  1. It's heavily hedged to the fact he hasn't played in two years and may never return to form or need to retire again. That being said, I never knew you could structure a contract with that much bonus potential. 2 mil cap hit that can balloon as high as 7mil.
  2. Miller is just Ristolainen 2.0 and I just don't trust Cuylle; he reminds me too much of Tanner Jeannot
  3. I wouldn't trade him to Ottawa barring Tkachuk being in the return; no interest in anything from NYR, Pittsburgh, Philly, Isles or aiding Boston. Dallas might see some interest in Peterka as they could bridge him at 6mil
  4. Before anything, I’d need to know Robertson’s ask for his contract. I’m not entertaining a asset laden trade for a 1 year rental or a rent with another trade at the deadline. The contract must be manageable and not interfere with Tuch re-signing.
  5. Partly that was to trade away Muel with it

  7. The issue with Necas is he didn't want to sign here before and he's a UFA at year's end.
  8. No thx, no interest in trading him to Ottawa and letting him light up with his fellow German in Stutzle
  9. No interest in Petersson with his contract and potential head space issues.
  10. Would rather just buy out Muel than eat Nurse’s contract
  11. Apparently the Rangers want to OS Peterka but they don’t have anywhere near a decent contract they can offer. 5x7mil is like their max until reaching about 7x9mil. 7x9mil would mean the 12th pick goes to Pittsburgh and then 26, 27, 28, 29 1sts would be our compensation. At 5x7mil we can easily match and skip to the bank.
  12. If they honestly OS the 4 1sts level I’d let him go and be happy for Peterka. He’s a great player but he’s certainly nowhere near 11.7mil per. i also believe 8x9mil would put him at that level too. I’d be saddened but accept 4 1sts because 8x9mil isn’t exactly a number we can afford next season. Did they change the whole 5 year thing? Where 6/7 year deals would have their total divided by 5 for compensation levels.
  13. No to the first part, I ain’t trading Helenius for either Rakell or Rust; neither inspire me in any manner. 1 is a career Crosby line mate and the other was a mediocre player in Anaheim before playing with Crosby/Malkin. To the 2nd sure, maybe we can get to 5x8mil or 6x9mil with some deferred money to lower the cap hit.
  14. They'd have to pay him quite over the top
  15. A lot of it comes from cap acrobatics trying to fit the large contracts with the 6mil Skinner dead cap. Murphy is an ok player, neither great nor bad but is more of a defensively skewed style player.
  16. https://puckgm.puckpedia.com/rosters/644297 How about Chicago as a destination
  17. My guess was Ferraro + DAL's 1st and a 4th in '26 for Byram https://puckgm.puckpedia.com/rosters/641379
  18. Pretty on the nose to be honest, both are genuine freaks of nature who seem blocked from true glory by a small number of opponents. As for being a historically great player, Allen has 65 rushing TDs so far in his career. He is 3rd in Active Players behind Ezekiel Elliott with 74 and Derrick Henry with 106. 35 more in his career and he'd be only 1 of 10 NFL players to ever score 100 Rushing TDs.

  20. No interest, Rangers fans talk about him like we had with Ristolainen. "Should play wing" "Braindead guy that can hit" "Overhyped"
  21. I’ve seen plenty of Bruins fans say that, maybe not always reaching the playoff level but 9th/10th in the Conference. Dahlin’s injury isn’t the sole reason we missed but certainly was part of it. Devaluing to that of a mere excuse is falling far short of the impact his injury from Training Camp to near January was in reducing his effectiveness when he played. Not to mention his 10 game IR stint coincides perfectly with our losing streak. Hell, the game he left in, we had a 5-1 lead and in the 20min he was gone they blew the game in regulation. Dahlin’s injury can be both a large factor to missing without discounting the sheer ineptitude that was shown while he was gone. No player should be so important to a team that his injury leads to zero win effort in that time. That streak soured me on Byram and made me start to genuinely question Power’s level of Dman. Both can play great offensively but with Dahlin out neither stepped up to fill the gap. I only give Power a small bit of a mulligan because he had stepped up as a rookie when Dahlin missed a game against Tampa and Power played one of his best games that year. But it does feel a tad worrying that Power’s willingness to make contact and his defensive IQ has cratered more each year. His shot has gotten better but otherwise he’s regressed in defensive situations. As for Byram it all but made him a passenger; with Dahlin he’s great but otherwise he’s a liability. No matter how great your top pairing is, neither player should have such a dependence on their partner that if one goes down the other goes limp like a puppet without a puppeteer. Your #2 needs the ability to cover the #1 role for some time when the situation arises. Power already has the role of #3 Offensive D locked in and his play doesn’t falter regardless of partner. He’s good offensively, bad defensively. Byram while more physical seems more often than not incapable of playing with any other Dman aside from Dahlin.
  22. Either that or teams are trying to poach him from us
  23. I wish Marchand wasn't asking for 3x8mil, otherwise I'd sign him in a heartbeat and let him teach Benson his ways
  24. Damn Oilers, Corey Perry is Mr. Cup Finals
  25. That was definitely a part of it There were also disagreements on how much ownership had access to the players. A specific example was from a Sabres team visit to the Pegula music label venue in Nashville the night prior to an 8pm game. Kim pulled the wife of owner card on Lafontaine who refused to let the players go. (Quite honestly from what I know of this story, the Pegulas weren’t in the wrong in this instance; however it may have soured them on Presidents of Hockey Ops) Apparently LaFontaine did have some, likely CTE caused, issues which caused further friction with Kim Pegula. Particularly in terms of interpersonal interactions between the two in regards to non-direct hockey related matters. Tim Murray would later sink his own ship in part thanks to his own personal interactions with Kim. She was seen as a Black Widow to some but was respected by others. Terry has looked at the Sabres franchise as a privileged fan. He hired Lafontaine based on a dinner with one of his favorite players. Like us, he wants the whole behind the scenes experience and all but demands it outright. How many here, given the option, wouldn’t want to be in on all the going’s and comings of the team while also not having any particular job responsibilities? Like many fans however he’s lost some interest in the Sabres “toy” and doesn’t quite grasp how he is part of the problem with the team.
