  1. AND the second coming of Cam Neely.

yup this is what i wanted :(

This is still what I want.

A 6'4'' 240 pound winger who was abandoned on a frozen lake in Saskatchewan in the middle of winter as a three year old. He makes an igloo and chews a whole into the ice so that he can fish. When spring came and the ice broke he swam to shore, unlucky for him an angry moose was drinking on the shore where he landed. He grabs the moose by the antlers and kills the moose after ripping them off. Upon seeing this a pack of wolves respect him and not only raise him but make them their pack leader. He spends the next year hunting with the pack, then the wolves start to trust humans because of their leader. This proves to be a huge mistake and his adopted mother is killed by a man in the nearest town. He finds the man on a backyard rink and kills him brutally stealing his skates and stick. He then realizes that he cant keep going on killing all the humans so he teaches himself to skate and shoot and score. He travels the countryside finding every pond hockey and junior hockey game he can find. To make up for the humans killing his wolf mother he becomes the greatest hockey player to ever live. Every time the other team touches the puck he puts the guy through the boards and because our silly rules wont allow him to hit the goalie he destroys their psyches by scoring goals. He is granted exceptional player status as a 6 year old and destroys every record the OHL has. He is then given the first ever exceptional player status for the NHL and he leads us to the Stanley Cup each of his twenty years in the league.

Its not too much to ask for right?

  2. If they trade Miller, that might just be the camel that breaks the straws back (and before you post, I know what I did here) for me. I'm already really down on my home town teams, this just might do me in. I can't see a rebuild be successful without a legit goalie.

Dude the bills just got Ramses Barden and Nathan Williams SUPER BOWL

  3. 11 only plays well during summer Olympic years when they happen to fall on a leap year that has an average winter temperature above freezing. Also he has never had a goal or an assist in times where lake erie is over 63% covered in ice.

  4. If all of Buffalo's 1st from this years draft are not in the lineup full time this year what makes u think that there pick from this year will be in next years lineup? Do u see the new management style happening here?

Read everyone elses post. Both of our possible picks are looking to be higher than our first pick of the last draft. Risto could very easily be playing on this team and would be if it wasnt historically awful. That is really good for a defense-man. There are also 2 guys drafter after him that are playing regular minutes in the league.

Reinhart is ready to play in the NHL right now, so is bennett, so is eckblad, and so are a few others. Those guys will be on rosters next year, two of them might be on ours.

  5. What we need is top six wingers, who can score goals, or make plays or at the very least understand the game

I don't mean to be rude but absolutely not, most top 10 draft picks play that year? So 6 out of 10 at least play that year? Do me a favor and look that up! Not even close man. You MIGHT have got away with it if you said top 3.

5 of the top 10 are playing for their clubs right now. that is if you dont include Risto......

also of the top 25 or so picks there are 3 or 4 forwards who could be in our top six this year. Right this minute. Especially Drouin

  6. It sounds like he would if they made him a good offer, I could see him re-signing there

They are only slightly better than us. We were going to make him the highest paid player and he wouldnt agree. He isnt going to sign anywhere until free agency and I bet you a much better team will offer as much money as the islanders.

I push for more, but if it is the best offer on the table, I take Briere for Stafford, straight across.

Briere still has more goal-scoring ability than all but a couple Sabres, he's a great guy in the room to show the kids the way and he is a UFA next year who we might get something for at the deadline.

Stafford might rebound in Montreal, but his time here is way past due.

What he brings on the ice can be filled by any number of Matt D'Agostinis.

Yeah but the money is the problem. Montreal would want us to keep some of it and we want to get out from under that landslide

  7. If the Islanders think they will be in the McDavid/Eichel sweepstakes, they may allow us to do just that. Imagine having the 1st overall and the 4th overall picks and taking Bennett and Dal Colle... man would that speed up a rebuild.

I would think that depending on how we did in free agency we would at least be competitive for a wild card. That is without considering that I think it is very plausible that we may have two to three more first found picks depending on the trade deadline. I am still sincerely hoping for a Tkachuk scenario to work out with one or hopefully all of Ott, Moulson, and Miller.

  8. Sounds like the Isles are going to try and re-sign him so he probably won't be available

Briere is going to be the throw away in the deal for the Habs, a salary dump to move a guy whos getting healthy scratched. People here may dispise Stafford, but the team doesn't and he is still getting lots of ice time so the Habs might actually want him and in order for the Habs to move Briere they will need to throw in something to sweeten the pot and take on his contract

I would bet money that he doesnt stay there. I highly doubt he re-signs with them

  9. My laptop has to go in for service. I have been transitioning to the cloud for a while, and I decided to go whole hog and switch to a chromebook, which essentially forces you onto the cloud. So with the book down for a few weeks, I've transitioned to my Wife's old MacBook for a while:

    EVERYTHING SCROLLS ###### BACKWARDS!!!!

what is this? some "we are not going to be held to anybody elses standards" gimmick? Mouse wheel down moves you down the page, right? Not on Mac! it's like learning how to drive all over again in a car that turns left when you rotate the wheel clockwise and has the gas and brake switched. It's complete bull ######.

doesnt it have a trackpad? just use two fingers down. Thats the thing i like most about mac is the smart trackpad

  10. Venting time...

I've decided that my boss has swung & missed on his last two hires (not including me, of course!). My current colleague has no sense of when to shut up. I try to answer his questions when he needs them, but every time he's given a project, he starts asking me questions about how he should do it every time he has new information. I think I told him about 7,936 times "It's your project, you decide how you want to do it." Again, I don't mind answering questions about who to contact, how to get the ball rolling, or how we do things, but I don't need to be interrupted every 3 minutes when he has an idea. Dude...just do it. I can't tell you how many times I learned by just making a decision and rolling with it.

Bias for action! You should teach him about it

  11. He played for Germany who's sole goal of the WJC was to avoid being kicked out of the tournament.

My advice is to do basically what the BSC did... take ISS rankings, CSS Rankings and (insert other ranking here... craigs list?) average out the ranks for each players and generate a new list. If I have time later today I may try this out

    He still played poorly.....

  12. Draisytl (too lazy to look up exact spelling) goes and plays in the WJHC and comes back to see himself fall out of the top 10. Meanwhile others play against far inferior talent and move up. These rankings are no different than Kiper and McShay. USELESS!!

he played bad though....and some of the guys left behind were for older players who were already drafted....

  13. LA.

I miss playing in Madison, where playing outside was free, pickup was like $5 for two hours, and leagues were about $120-140 for like 25 games.

Yep they are only three rinks within 2 hours of me. Actually a guy died last week playing in the league near me as well. Collapsed on the ice.

The money is just way way too much. Especially since free skate is the same pricing as in and around Buffalo.... I dont get it.

$235 for 10 regular season games. Then playoffs with all 8 teams getting in. And we play on pro ice. Very affordable.

    That is nice

  14. Hockey by me is ludicrously expensive, but we pay it, because ###### not playing hockey. I just paid $420 for 14 games ($30/game avg), and that's one of the cheaper leagues.

Where are you at? I hate that it is this much because I want to play but I cant afford it. My dad played in a bar league in Fredonia and he only paid like 125. That included a jersey! They did have bar sponsors but still! That is affordable.
