With the net? From my understanding, if the net comes off due to the goalie or one of his teammates, and the puck goes in and would have been in if the net was still in place, then its a good goal, this way the goal or his team can't just knock the net off when theres a fight over the puck close to the net to prevent a goal -

If the goalie is knocking the net off, its the right call if the puck went in and it wasn't because the net was moved -

Are they as good as getting to see Bieksa eating a hot Dog from a crowd of Leafs fans and finding out one of the older guys in the crowd was his cousin and not his uncle? -

They showed a clip of Mrazek trying on a pair of the old leather pads in the locker room and they looked like they fit, then they had a photo of the pads side by side with the ones he wears and his pads were about a foot taller. -

In that area of Hamilton, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that happening, although he might be the only one letting him leave his wallet and just wanting the jacket..... -

With it being TNT, and broadcasting to the National audience, their audience is expected to be mostly 'Hockey fans' who probably don't have a prefered team between the ones playing and just tuning in to catch a national outdoor game. In Canada we are getting that on Sportsnet, but like usual they are the Leafs broadcast and focus on them only -

Considering Waynes career, He probably wouldn't understand whats wrong with getting a trophy after playing because usually he walked away with one every year...... -

Well they have to get the insight of a local (he grew up only about 45 minutes from this game & works for TNT) Its not like Hamilton has ever produced an NHLer, let alone one that may have played for the supposed 'Home team"...... -

"Local" performer (about a 1/2 hour drive away) with her band and the 'fans' surrounding the stage dressed in Leafs jerseys at a Sabres 'Home Game' Guess the Pegulas really need those few extra bucks to upgrade the yacht. Are they also playing goal music for the Leafs goal? -
It also might have more to do with only needing 2 on the roster so you can't stock pile alot of them so you use them as trade chips. Once you find a good one, you rarely move on from them until they are older. For many teams, it's been years since they had to look at the goaltending market for anything more then a decent affordable backup. A good starter can be in place for a decade + so for a while your less likely to draft one.

What do you expect from: #71 Victor Olofsson?
apuszczalowski replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
I think with Georgiev being young he still has potential to be good/decent starter (1b type). There's a short list of goalies though that you would have an argument over Dell being better then, Hutton might be the only one to come to mind....... Tokarski is an ok emergency goalie, and Anderson can't be relied on to play many games. I think keeping UPL in Rochester for another season is the best option if the Sabres can improve their goaltending rather then giving him the starter job because there's no one else, or letting him sit behind someone on the bench. Let him get the playing time in the minors and force the Sabres to give him the job. No one's ever been destroyed by playing too long in the minors. If Georgiev can become a good starter, having him and UPL, plus some good prospects at the position in the wings is a great problem to have. -

In that article mentioning VO as a trade option, it says the Rangers would be looking for a veteran backup goalie, I would make Georgiev a target and add Anderson from Buffalo side -
Future considerations seems like an overpayment. I remember thinking when the Sabres brought him in it was a mistake, he had never played full season and only had about one good year. It wasn't like he was a young prospect at the time. And almost all the talk on the deal mentions how he has been statistically the worst goaltender in the league the last few years. There were a few Leafs fans commenting on how it couldn't be worse the Mrazek last night....... Dubas might be trying to prove them wrong

Their emergency third was injured weeks ago playing for Pegulas other franchise. Who would have thought losing White would doom the Bills and Sabres this season. Maybe he has a few guys at the academy that can fill in?
-
What could possibly go wrong? They have a 40 year old with only a handful of games played over the last 2 seasons coming back from a long stint on IR after a couple of practices, and another one who says he can feel different day to day from the affects of a respiratory virus.
-
If he's "Generational", its not looking good for the future of the position....... J/K So is Dahlin the New Eichel/whipping boy that fans will ride out of town for more 'future' assets.....

Sabres Trade for Johnny Boychuk’s Contract
apuszczalowski replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
They will eventually have to give up something, thats what 'future considerations' are. whether its a very low pick, or some scrub prospect whos barely hanging on to a roster spot in the minors, eventually something has to go the other way. -
Sabres Trade for Johnny Boychuk’s Contract
apuszczalowski replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
But you could also look at it as they did the Sabres a favour because the Sabres needed a contract to get above the cap floor. This is what Arizona has done plenty of times, except usually they do it to get another asset with it. The Sabres are giving up a future asset for just the cap hit.
