Really Scott makes zero sense. I realize he's there to deter malicious or unwarranted aggression but sprinkle a little backbone into every player you put on your team and we wouldn't need to waste a roster spot on a player like him. Darcy is behind the curve in a league that is going away from thugs that can't also play the game.

We've been developing talent with this duo in charge for years and have nothing to show for it. There are no guarantees that the development they think they are doing gets them to the promised land.

Confidence. He seems to have lost it somewhere. He's doubting himself and it shows in his play. He's afraid to make a mistake. Expectations from the big contract. Is he worth the 12 mil ? Who is ?

Put Grigs up with Van and Pom and hodgson with Foligno and Staff. Lets see what this kid can do. They're calling this 5 games an experiment to see if his development is on track so play him in a few different situations. Sitting on the bench is a waste. Watching some of the other rookies in the league and it seems to me that they are being played in all situations. Lindys way is to bury him on a checking line with 10 minutes a game. Play him against a checking line with some linemates and icetime.

He's fit right in on that team. 2 first star selections in the first 3 games. Helping the team win and fast becoming a fan favourite.

Ishtar. Thats rich and a perfect description. What came to mind when watching them lose to the canes two nights in a row was Vanilla. This team is so Vanilla its boring. What is their identity ?

I'm not surprised. This is the same team as last year minus Roy with a little bit o grit ( Ott ) and a goon ( Scott ). The same core. The same leadership. The same coaching. The same mail it in attitude. Still have a shortage of centres. Still playing soft. Seemingly no heart. Made in Regiers image.

Send Grigs back before this shite rubs off on him.

4 games into a shortened season and we'll be playing catch-up with a mediocre roster and 1 scoring line. This is going to be a fun season. Go Sabres !

As I said in the G.D.T. after last nights fiasco this is essentially the same core group/ leadership as last year with Ott. Scott and a few rookies thrown into the mix. We will have stinkers and most likely will go through prolonged periods of lethargic play. Regier really changed nothing this off season. Brought in some toughness and a couple rookies. Rather than get overly excited about their chances I have to remind myself that we will still suffer frustrations much like past years being led by the veterans on this squad and this coaching staff. There is work to be done to change the culture of this team. That being said, GO SABRES !

One thing I've learned about this team ( going back quite a few years ) is that they will mail it in given the right set of circumstances and they will trip over each other trying to find excuses for their lacklustre play. Lets not kid ourselves here. This is the same leadership group on the ice, the same basic core of guys and the same coaching staff as all those other years of failure. Taking out Roy and adding Ott and John Scott and a sprinkling of rookies does not change that. We are thus far still that team. More changes need to be made for this team to move forward. The game last night was proof positive that the more things change around this Sabres team the more they stay the same. Nearly every player was brutal last night and at the expense of getting berated I will include the coaching staff in my assessment. Pathetic.

Hodgson had some terrible giveaways tonight. He's not the only player to blame tonight. Watching that game was downright painful. We are a long way off from being where we all want to be.

Without Miller in net this team is pedestrian at best. Average or worse. Anyone think they would have beat either Toronto or Philly with Enroth in net ?

I'm going to say it. This team is being outcoached, outworked and their heads aren't in the game. We'll see if Lindy can inspire some passion in these guys between periods because this is just looking pathetic right now. 2 goals in 9 seconds ? Come on.
