  1. Blues' legs are gone by second period.
  2. That's an interesting take. However, you still didn't need to give away one of the better centers in the league. The "trade" was an incompetent act.
  3. It wasn't a trade; it was a giveaway. Botterill has to go quite some distance to compensate for this travesty.
  4. He's supposedly a "defense first" coach. That's a breath of fresh air.
  5. If I owned a professional sports franchise I'd have a big problem with all star games and tournaments and an even bigger problem knowing there's not much you can do about keeping your players out of them.
  6. I'd rather have a risky hire with an interesting resume than a "safe" hire like Housley and his predecessor were.
  7. His background sounds 180 degrees different from Housley's "duh" persona, so I'll take this ride. Also, having a coach with a European background should be a plus with all the European players we have now and in the pipeline.
  8. DeHaan scored two goals in a row; one for each team.
  9. It will be interesting to see how the Carolina home ice hysteria impacts the team. It was significant, I believe, in turning them around against the Caps after being down 2-0.
  10. What next? Sabres will likely hire the wrong coach, again. Buffalo sports remain cursed!
  11. Especially when you watch the play of the teams in these playoffs. We're nowhere close, although a real coach would help.
  12. It was a trifecta loss by the Canes. Staal takes a dumb penalty and Bruins tie it. Refs allow Svechnikov to get whiplashed with no interference call while a penalty is called on Carolina; Bruins score. Finally, coach pulls his goalie much too soon and Bruins feast. Bad penalties, bad reffing, and bad coaching. Tough way to lose.
  13. Can someone please clone Aho and put a Sabres uniform on II? This guy is rapidly becoming my favorite player not wearing a Sabres uniform. Talk about heady play, he's the poster child.
  14. I love watching them in these playoffs. They're most everything the Sabres are not, including having a great coach.
  15. Lehner's defense during the regular season must have been exceptional. Against the Canes, he looked liked the same slow goalie that played for the Sabres, even getting pulled in the deciding game 4.
  16. After watching him in the series against the Caps and currently in the Islanders series, Sebastian Aho or the Canes has become one of my favorite NHL players. His motor is non-stop, he's always around the puck, and he plays an ultra intelligent game. Too bad he doesn't have a twin playing for the Sabres.
  17. These playoffs have been fun to watch, even though the Sabres again "refused" to participate. The Carolina/Caps series and the ongoing Carolina/Islanders series exemplify how fast, hard hitting hockey should be played. Wouldn't it be great to see the Sabres do likewise (yawn!)? We need a coach who truly knows what he's doing and pushes the team to skate hard for 60 minutes, be aggresive, gritty, and hard hitting, forecheck like you mean it, and have a quick puck moving power play. One can only dream.
  18. Then Lehner turns it over behind his own net, giving Carolina the lead mid-way thru the third period.
  19. Same old Lehner, slow reaction to action in front of net (game 3, 1st goal). Don't understand how he had such a good season. Defense must have been super.
  20. Kinda like Housley standing there the entire game with his arms folded, communicating with no one, and maintaining that know nothing grin on his face.
  21. Next thing someone will post is that Buffalo's a hip town. ?
