My heart will always be with the Sabres. But until they give me something to cheer about, I might spend some time rooting for my home team. Not being a fair weather fan, just being a fan who is sick of zero progress over several years.

It's tough to win in this league. They just can't get the breaks, they came across a hot goaltender.

I didn't see too many unhappy people during the win streak. After being the laughing stock of the league the last five years, I think fans have reason to be upset.

Do metrics take into account he plays 75 minutes a game against every team's top line, and his entire career has been on the worst offense in the entire league, hence the poor +/- rating?

I don't think you're giving Bogo and Risto enough credit. And at this point, you might be giving Montour too much. I haven't seen enough from him to convince me he is a top D-man. Granted he just got here.

Hockey IQ or not. He's a top D-man. People might not like Risto and Bogo, but they are not bottom pairing D-men. If you need to work on your defense, you focus on replacing your bad ones. If you replace your good ones with good ones, you're right back where you started.

I'd like to know who they play the following 3-4 games. Because if I remember correctly, teams that play overseas are in a funk the first 3-4 games back. Time change, jet lag, and all.

I'm still going to follow the Sabres. But unless some serious coaching changes are made during the off-season to bring in a veteran head coach with some balls, Sabres games will not be top priority. If I can make other plans, I will. Of course, there's always the Hurricanes.

Thanks for proving my point. Housley has eclipsed the barrier of failure. Two teams have had 10 game win streaks and missed the playoffs in NHL history. It's quite possible the Sabres finish at least 10 points worse than that other team. 99 out of 100............... obviously hasn't happened that often. But you'de have to be clueless to think that percentage is accurate if it did happen 100 times.

99 times out of 100, if a coach had a 10 game win streak and then proceeded to win 14 of 48 games, he would have been fired a month ago.

I've had enough waiting and seeing. This organization is an absolute joke.

Blues had a long win streak. Sabres had a long win streak. There's one major difference............ They're in the playoff hunt. Take away the Sabres win streak and they're dead last in the league. Even worse than the Phlyers would have been.

I think his win percentage since the win streak should be significantly better than the tank teams that we're designed to fail. Yet they aren't. Don't twist my words.

Yes, that is a great core. But you don't win with seven players, I don't care how good they are.
