Who is "they"? I simply made a post about Trochek vs Eichel. Nobody made me the "butthurt" poster. My god, this forum is so unwelcoming, it's unreal. If you want to figure out why nobody joins this board, just look at the last few posts............. I tried. Screw this place. It's a real shame a certain few ruin this entire forum.

I just made a simple post about Trochek vs. Eichel. For some reason most of this forum took it personally. Everybody here is very vocal about their opinions, and they all get away with it. I spoke me mind in the past and got chastised for it. Took some time off, came back with a new attitude and refreshed personality, and I'm still getting chastised for bringing up something NHL related. I just can't gauge this group. This whole forum is very unfriendly and very un-welcoming. If this is what BFLO is about, I have no desire to ever visit the city again because you people are flat out miserable.

At this point, I'm finding more entertainment watching 40+ fish try to distinguish themselves in a 180 gallon tank just next to the TV as hockey is playing. Full sized leather sofa, 180 gallon fish tank and a 75" TV........ life can't get greater.

I'm sorry you are offended that I support a 2nd team. Perhaps you aren't old enough to recognize the fact that BFLO teams have sucked for well over a decade and some people are sick and tired of watching the same old crap.

Well, sorry I couldn't meet your standards. When I simply mention how good a player like Trochek is and then somebody here tells me to ***** off....... what direction should I take?In the past I may have taken it personally and gotten into an argument. Now, I just take it in stride and accept the fact that some Sabres fans are entitled millennials and don't like to get their feelings hurt. It's pretty sad that all I did was mention a player from another team and half the board goes ballistic. In a thread made for talk around the NHL.

It's one thing to get disrespect. It's another to get attacked based on my opinion. I've been here forever and I backed off and came back hoping for a civil discussion. I've barely made a few posts and already getting trashed. You need to watch Panther's games, Trochek is one step above Eichel at this point. He is on par with Marchand. And Eichel isn't close to being Marchand. Bang for the buck, I'd take Trochek in a heartbeat over Eichel. Watch some Panthers games, you'll see what I'm talking about. I just don't appreciate the fact that I came back here with a new attitude to avoid arguments, and people like you sit here and trash my opinion and force another argument. Not going to fall for it. Argue all you want, I want no part of it.

Hutton is in his 30's and never been a starter. Ullmark has allowed one goal in two games. Play the hot hand.

Housley has no balls. If he did, Ullmark would be starting next game. We'll see.

Trochek spent very little time with Barkov last year. Barkov spent most of his time with Bjugstad and Dadanov. Trochek brings much more to the team than Eichel does. That might change, but right now, that's the case. Cap hits, bang for the buck, I'd take Trochek over Eichel in a heartbeat without thinking twice.

I'm not saying Eichel is bad, I'm just saying Trochek brings more of the intangibles. I'd like to know your source because Barkov has spent most of his time with Dadonov. Who might be one of the best UFA signings of this decade.

At this point, I have to disagree. Once Eichel matures and grows up, he may be the better player. But, right now, Trochek is a better player. Eichel scores, and that's it. He's not captain material, he's not a hitter, he's not defensive............... Trochek offers all of that. He is a younger version of Brad Marchand. If Eichel and Trochek were both on the same team, I wouldn't hesitate to give Trochek the C.

I may have criticized the Sabres in the past, as most here have. But did you actually read my post in this instance? All I did was bring up Vinny Trochek because he is super fun to watch. He is one of the best all around players in the league. And yes, at this point I would trade him straight up for Eichel. If you can't tolerate that, put me on ignore. It's not like I added my opinion in a GDT, I offered it in a thread made for discussion about the NHL in general.

Don't be condescending. I only follow a 2nd team because they were my local team for 22 years. It's tough not to follow them when they are 15 minutes down the street. I'm sorry you're offended that I follow two teams. If me following two teams offends you, somebody you don't even know personally, you need help. The Sabres will always be my team, but I'm not the only person that follows the rest of the league when the Sabres have nothing entertaining to offer.

You obviously haven't read most of my posts. I'm not going to let you get on my nerves, I came back here for serious discussions and no arguments. You're just helping to ruin that, just go away.

I've been a Sabres fan since I was like 8. I know way more about the Sabres than the vast majority of fans. I know the past, I know the present and I know who is coming up through the ranks. I lived 18 years in Buffalo, then 22 years in South Florida, so go ahead and chastise me for following a 2nd team. The Sabres will always be my first team. I know that doesn't follow your narrative, but you'll get over it. Eichel's ceiling might be high, but we have yet to see it. It's not my fault you don't watch other games to see what other players have to offer. In the last two years, Trochek has 54 goals and 130 points which puts him slightly under Eichel in the PPG average department, but he has intangibles that Eichel doesn't have. He is the younger version of Marchand. He hits, he pushes people around, he gets under their skin and he acts like a leader. Eichel doesn't have that yet. I'll take the intangibles and a slightly lower PPG average over what Eichel has right now any day. I'm sorry you see it as a Panthers fandom. I was just creating discussion because Trochek is rarely talked about and may be one of the most underrated players in the league. Last I checked this was a 'Around the NHL' thread which means anything other than the Sabres. If you don't like it, move on. Grow up, act like an adult.

In order to argue, or discuss, you have to first offer an opinion or your personal viewpoint. You have done neither. So there is no argument/discussion. I made a point about a particular forward for the other team I root for (because I lived there for 22 years) and you didn't like it. You only chose to trash me and tell me to ***** off. If that's your idea of an argument/discussion........ perhaps you don't belong here because we discuss things and offer opinions. It seems as though you just want to attack me. I came back to this forum with a different attitude and an open mind to keep from getting into arguments like what used to happen. I guess it wasn't me after all. It's no wonder nobody new joins this forum.

How is he right, he didn't say anything? He just patronized me, like he does every other time he responds to me. All mockery, no substance. Like i said, at this point I'd rather have Trochek than Eichel. Not only can Trochek score, he offers up the intangibles that Eichel doesn't have. The grit, the leadership, the Marchand type playing style. I love watching him play.
