Some of you guys have really got to start giving Marty some credit. He had a great game (again). TSN (which was the DirecTv feed) was effusive in their praise. I am beginning to think that there is nothing that Marty could do to appease some of you guys. Let's see. He has the franchise record for most consecutive victories. He has the franchise record for most consecutive shutout minutes. We have some pretty darn good goalies in our history. He also has been integral in this stretch. Let's give him his due.

Also the .944 save percentage.

Marty kept them in that game during the Av's barrage at the end of the game. For a long period of time toward the end of the third, it seemed like we could not get the puck out and guys were standing around. We weathered the storn and were able to come back to pick up two huge points on the road. That win was not only great for the two points, it was great for a young team not playing on the road under adverse conditions and should only add confidence as the season progresses.

Men against boys. The Sens and the Habs have skated circles around us. Odd man break after odd man break. Our defensemen are horrible. They do not stand anybody up at the blue line, get stuck in no man's zone, and leave opposing players undisturbed in front of the net. I would have hated to be the goaltender behind that D.

Nice win by Sabres. Yet, by no means did we dominate the entire game as the Buffalo News and some of the quotes seem to suggest. There were times when the Sabres were dominated in our own zone. It is a sign of good team, however, when you can win a game like that. You have to love the results that this team is getting so far. This has been a very enjoyable season. I just hope that we can start filling up HSBC on a consistent basis.

There is no way that Miller should have let that in. He left too much open and did not challenge the shooter at all. Tallender also did not challenge the shooter except for a half hearted attempt at a poke check. We should have at least had a point after this game.
