  1. Because Comrie was supposed to be the 1B and Levi was going to Rochester. Unfortunately Comrie couldn't fill that role adequately. (You'll note that the Sabres are doing the same thing this year with James Reimer.) Oh, nice Jedi move introducing Ullmark into the discussion, as if it has anything to do with this. But since you brought him up, Ullmark won his Vezina, then fell off to the point where he got traded. If Adams had paid a ton to keep him here, I'm sure you'd be critical of that too, overpaying for a middling goalie. Oh, come now.
  2. "Hey UPL really came around. Way to pay off Adam's faith in him." "Nah, Adams got lucky."
  3. I'm not saying RJ slipped, just that they really forgot about radio listeners. They called a TV game.
  4. Adams was the only person willing to stick with Ukka at the start of last season when everyone wanted the Sabres to move on. So now he doesn't trust him? 🤔 I think the problem isn't Kev, it's UPL. I have a hunch he'd like to get out of town. Going to arbitration is the fast track there.
  5. RJ was the same way toward the end. That and Rob Ray telling long stories while play is on. The answer is for WGR to hire their own radio team. Paul Hamilton is right there. I'm sure he'd love to do it. But like all things, it comes down to money. And Audacy, WGR's owner, is bankrupt.
  6. He's fine. His biggest flaw is he's not RJ.
  7. They only happen every couple years. Teams just announced the next sale at Key Bank Center atrium Saturday, July 27th. General public time is noon, but season ticket holders can get an early entry ticket for 11am. Check your email for the link. These sales are really cool. You can find tons of game worn gear, sticks, even goalie equipment.
  8. I did say 94 is the floor. I guess my biggest point is .575 is the pace they have to stay above.
  9. The Sabres will make the playoffs if they earn a Deluca .500. That is the floor. Let's say 41 wins, 12 OTLs and 29 Ls. That's 94 points, a .573 pts%. Doesn't matter who or how they do it.
  10. I don't think a short hop costs that much. There are services like Flexjet you can order a flight. The question is how often would he need to fly to NYC. Like someone else posted, his wife isn't going to have a lot of free time, and he's going to be on road trips with the Sabres.
  11. If you make $8MM you're flying private.
  12. Do you not remember what the issue was? It was only 5-6 years ago.
  13. Last year's standings adjusted slightly for free agency.
  14. Start apartment shopping in Rochester.
  15. It's not lasagna. The best description is it's like Sicilian square pizza, except for the cheese crisp around the ends.
  16. He joined a team that was 80-90% to a cup contender.
  17. The Detroit pie at Buffalo Brewing is pretty legit. https://www.instagram.com/buffalodeepdish/?hl=en
  18. I can't imagine Terry not cutting a deal on rooms. Where do opponents stay?
  19. Why is that unpopular? They're fine. Given a choice I'd go to Resurgence or Buffalo Brewery (for the Detroit style pizza) but Pearl is pretty good too.
  20. We'll I'm never there unless a game is on so I don't know. Southern Tier Brewery took over 716. I assume they're doing well. I think Tim Hortons is still open. There used to be some small businesses along Washington St including (remember?) The Healthy Scratch (a Pegula offspring project). I think they're gone. About that name, Healthy Scratch carries a negative connotation if you're a hockey player, just saying. You have to go a block or more to find other place to hang out at. John Labatt House, Pizza Plant, HofBrau Haus, Prohibition and Ballyhoo I assume do fine. Then there's Buffalo Iron Works. They have live music.
  21. He owns the building. That includes the hotel part.
  22. And this guy is getting toasted for that take in the replies.
