  1. https://www.tsn.ca/hub-cities-begin-submitting-proposals-to-nhl-1.1471924 I would guess Buffalo has a strong chance of becoming an NHL hub city. Between Key Bank Center and Harborplace you have 3 NHL rinks, locker rooms, training facilities, hotel, food service and media infrastructure, all in a space that can be sealed off from the general public. Not to mention top-shelf medical facilities just up the street.
  2. Well allegedly there were going to be millions of tests available a month ago.
  3. I'm assuming mine is in the mail...if it comes at all. Filing as self-employed I never get a refund. Anything owed to me gets rolled into the next tax year.
  4. Not to mention funnelling test kits to pro sports teams when hospitals and the public can't get them. Not a good look.
  5. 30+ terminated workers? Vendetta?
  6. Here's a possible reason: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/20/oil-prices-sink-to-20-year-low-as-un-sounds-alarm-on-to-covid-19-relief-fund? So much for drilling another well.
  7. Cleaning and cooking. A lot of baking.
  8. Tom Barasso?
  9. NH governor confirms speaking with Gary Bettman about hosting NHL games. https://boston.cbslocal.com/2020/04/17/nh-governor-chris-sununu-confirms-speaking-to-nhl-on-the-table/
  10. Paul Hamilton backs up Vogl's take. But is he talking to sources while furloughed from WGR?
  11. It's a real jewel. Close to Wilmington, gorgeous beach with mostly small condos. Just a few high rises. And affordable. My oceanfront place is $1400/wk incl taxes, fees and dog upcharge. I'm not into the Outer Banks at all.

  13. I like Eich.
  14. From TwoBillsDrive.
  15. How many teams could you house and feed in the Harborcenter Marriott? Including support staff and officials? At least 4? When you think about it, what place is better? You have three NHL rinks, a hotel, food service and hockey training facility under one roof that can be sanitized from stem to stern.
  16. Carolina Beach. About 15 minutes south of Wilmington.
  17. Between working from home, I've been baking a lot. Working on perfecting my no-knead bread recipe. (The secret ingredient is honey.) Being the kitchen manager. Major cleaning and repairs around the house. Prepping the pool for it's spring opening. Walking the dogs daily.
  18. Speaking of, I booked a beach condo in NC for late August. You just know what'll happen.
  19. Despite being and hour from Boston, Covid cases have been mercifully few here in Manchester. Will that matter? We'll see. But at least the building is media ready. Are there enough hotel rooms? We had a nice spurt of hotel construction right before things went to s**t. I don't know if it's enough, but I'd wager there are more hotel rooms here than North Dakota. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nhl/news/nhl-new-hampshire-what-know-leagues-possible-return/163izo47vgx4m12qq7rvk1vjad SNHU Arena
  20. Manchester NH also floated as a site.
  21. SNHU Arena in Manchester NH (former site of the Kings AHL team) was rumored to be under consideration. Arena managers deny it...buuuuut what do you expect them to say? (This would be great since I live here.) https://www.unionleader.com/news/health/coronavirus/nhl-will-not-stage-games-in-manchester-says-source-dispelling-hearsay/article_91341930-0840-5d8f-8c84-775ee937356c.html Here's the original rumor: https://boston.cbslocal.com/2020/04/06/report-nhl-considering-playing-games-in-manchester-n-h/
  22. Lastly, if you want an insanely good hard pretzel: https://www.martinspretzels.com/ They deliver. I recommend the extra dark.
  23. You'll eat the entire bag. Also very good.
