Why is Terry expected to subsidize the Sabres? -
These are just delusions from Hawks Twitter. Their "reasons" are laughable and show no understanding of what Adams and the Sabres are doing. I agree with you Kane wouldn't be a fit on this roster.

Fools gold.

This is a humorous thread read.

Nothing going our way tonight.

The Sabres, save for Dahlin, have 9 days off.

Asplund's off the market, folks. Sorry.

Are the Sabres out of the running for the playoffs?
PromoTheRobot replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
https://theathletic.com/4157763/2023/02/06/nhl-playoff-picture-eastern-conference-all-star-break?source=user-shared-article Sorry about the paywall. Dom Luszczyszyn at the Atlantic called the Sabres a 14% long shot to make the playoffs. Pens (77%)Caps (54%) Panthers (46%) and Isles (19%) all given better odds. Five other sources have Buffalo as an “unlikely bet” rather than a “long shot,” so we’re on an island here. I already went over why Buffalo is so unlikely in the last edition of 16 Stats, but the gist is the team has a tough schedule and the model isn’t sold quite yet after 50 games of strong play. The team is scoring well above expectations at the moment and the model does expect that to regress. If it does, the Sabres don’t quite have the defense or goaltending to make up the difference. This is based on the Athletic's predictive model as well as the predictions of 5 other hockey sites. Dom's take is the least optimistic of the six. Of course Dom predicted a second from last 77 pt season at the start of the year so he's not going to veer from that. We'll just have to do what we've done since Granato took over: prove them wrong. -

I assume Rasmus will be catching up with his boys. -
I thought it made quite the difference. Certainly puts a premium on regulation wins.

I was wondering what the difference would be so I recalculated the Eastern Conference standings using the 3-2-1 points system vs the current one: CURRENT: 1-BOS-83 pts 2-CAR-76 3-TOR-70 4-NJD-68 5-TBY-65 6-NYR-62 7-WSH-60 8-PIT-57 9-BUF-56 10-NYI-54 11-FLA-51 12-OTT-51 13-PHI-51 14-DET-50 15-MTL-44 16-CBS-34 USING 3-2-1: (BOLD team moves up, ITALIC team moves down) 1-BOS-115 pts 2-TOR-96 3-CAR-93 4-TBY-89 (more regl wins) 5-NJD-89 6-NYR-80 7-WSH-79 8-NYI-76 9-FLA-75 (more regl wins) 10-PIT-75 11-BUF-73 12-PHI-71 13-OTT-68 14-DET-64 15-MTL-48 16-CBS-42

I've been up there in the summer. Still pretty cold.
-
I think the Sabres would be doing much better since most of our wins are in regulation.
-
No cold, dull, depressing places with little to do.

This is why bringing in a Timo Meier, I feel, creates a two tier system of homegrown talent taking less than traded and free agent players. How does that work?
