  1. Did he call the police on himself?............
  2. Again.....it's all relative. A house in East Amherst that needs a new roof isn't suddenly worth less than a house on the east side that got some stainless steel appliances and a fresh coat of paint......
  3. It was pretty funny watching people make fun of Boston here. They have the Sabres crushed in net, a decent edge on D, edge at center, and their wings are about equal. It's fine to get excited about your team, but i've noticed as the years go on, this town knows less and less about what happens outside of the Buffalo Bubble. I'm sure not being relevant has a lot to do with it so people don't pay as much attention, but it's one thing to dream about what "could be" someday, and another to be honest about what probably "is", today. I think the fanbase is feeling good because the brainfreeze of eating Sabres Swirl Sundae has subsided. People are confusing the removal of pain with the feeling of actual pleasure. On a relative basis things are much better. That wasn't chocolate in there by the way......... I also got a kick out of the Legwand trade. People calling it a favor and a salary dump for a guy who is and has been shot. He's 33 and was the #2 overall pick and has 600 points. The irony of in one breath calling him worthless, then in the next praising Eichel for 15 years of superstardom and fitting him for a HOF jacket is hysterical. I guess I just see the little ironies in life....... I hope the Sabres can contend for a playoff spot. It's realistic to hope they can, but not expected.
  4. I have no idea how you can say that. He IS Darryl Shannon. Except now he has a medical issue lingering over him.
  5. I was just commenting on the lack of meaning from the scrimmage itself.....you can't say a guy doesn't have it after 60 minutes, but, I can see where a guy has all the tools to have it, and Cornel was the only one that had me gaga at the potential. I really think people need to calm down with the projections. I'd put $$ down all day Boston finishes ahead of them. Buffalo is projected to draft #3 right now.... http://www.oddschecker.com/ice-hockey/nhl/stanley-cup/winner
  6. Sure, you can't define a career in a 60 minute game of tiddlywinks. I was just saying, if you had me show up out of the blue and say it was a Columbus prospects game and I knew nothing about the players but the numbers on their back and their age, I would leave thinking Cornel had the best skill set to be a true top 6 forward on a real team. I think Murray needs to address the defense, and fast. They have a load of commodity type big forwards coming. I'm not sure anyone makes it big time, but you should get at least 2 or 3 3rd/4th liners out of it. The defense is in trouble in my opinion. Your top 5 right now are Bogosian, who has an injury history, Ristolainen, who has really only put together a 20 game stretch of quality NHL level hockey and probably would have not dressed on Chicago last year, Gorges who may or may not have started to hit his wall, Pysyk who sat out months with a mystery ailment, and on his best night is Darryl Shannon, and Mike Weber, who is Mike Weber. Unless Murray goes and gets Franson AND Odujya, he's going to need to make a trade for a top 4 guy who can move the puck. Given the depth at forward, you would have to think Foligno and Larsson are obvious candidates to go. They can be replaced with the pack of young guys in a year, and in all honesty, a line of Legwand, McGinn, and Gionta is probably much better than what those 2 guys can give you. You have Deslauries as a perfect 4th liner with ability. I'd like to see them go get David Moss and Max Lapiere and you have a 4th line that can each chip in 10 goals, be a nightmare to play against, and could eat up PK minutes. It's a little nerve wracking watching the unbridled optimism from the fanbase. I like the GM, coach, and player pool, but odds are this team is still drafting top 5 next year. You paid $8 million for a #2 center, and if Eichel doesn't fire out of the gate, it's going to get a little dicey.
  7. It says he's 6'2" 185lbs.....he looked 6'3" 210-215 out there. it's only a prospects game, but if I was scouting he would stand out. Bailey was nice too. Looks like Rienhart did well. It was too wide open and no penalties to really concentrate on defense. They were backpeddling most of the time and things were too losey goosey. Eichel looked like he was trying to keep things too simple and was a bit of a coach's pet. He would hang onto the puck and was deliberate. He also gave up a few 3 on 2 rushes with the forecheck numbers to peel off and be the first off on a line change. I will attribute it to 1 game overthinking, but he didn't seem like a cocky player....that's for sure....closer to timid tonight.
  8. I only watched the first 30 minutes, but if you threw me in blind and said, "You can take one guy here for your team from here on out the next 10 years"......I would take Cornel. The knocks on this kid were his lack of consistant effort and physical play. The guy looked like a beast of a 2 way player to me tonight. Speed, size, hacking guys, defensemen giving him space, worked magic with Bailey and Dupuy.......he obviously has been working at things.
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong...but Eric Cornel is 15 for blue? That kid looks like he wants to be a player in this league. Him and Bailey look like men amongst boys.
  10. We've had great conversation here year after year about these subjects. You obviously came in here to cause trouble....Weave called it. I ignored it for almost 2 days. Then I posted a video which you listed under your name, which you told eveybody here....doing what you do.....which you also told everybody here and promoted quite heavily. Are you not proud of your work? Seriously, good luck. I have nothing against you...you aren't on the take from the Sabres and at least disclose your ambition. You work hard and are smart and know a lot about sports. You have to calm down though. Just like I wouldn't expect the Sabres to hire me even to be Battista's coffee boy because of the way I talk sometimes, you need to be careful.
  11. If you can tell me that you didn't say horseracing is animal abuse and it should be shut down, then maybe I'd listen. But you did...multiple times. Good luck in your future. You are going to blacklist yourself from a lot of places considering the line of work you want to get into.
  12. Oh...you mean like coming into a thread about a discussion you have zero interest in, only to claim that I am an animal abuser, as well as my friends and 100's of others I am friendly with.....then want to shut down the industry and ruin the livelyhoods of all of the above and the lives of their families. Nice try. I think everyone who saw your public, which you actually wanted people to watch, understands where I am coming from. It's too bad you think horseracing needs to be shut down and everyone is cruel. Most tracks are plugging money into social media and video like crazy. Lots of openings......
  13. Absolutely. If you go to any thoroughbred farm, you will see horses racing each other all day, even yelling at each other from 100 yards away in seperate fields to get a race on over their own fencelines. When you see a group of 2 month olds doing it, it's the greatest thing.
  14. You are right....and sadly, I admit to being an animal abuser. I have done cruel things to horses. You see, a lot of times the night before a race, a horse senses all the cues that the race is the next day. He may only walk the shedrow or go for an easy jog or gallop, the vet goes over him head to toe and doublechecks previous issue areas, the groom starts icing his legs down in the bucket and more the next day to make sure there is absolutely no heat coming from them, some grooms spend an hour braiding their horse's hair, etc. When some horses see all this happening, they get excited knowing next day is gameday. They get overplayful, excited, pretty much like a football player the night before a game. While seeing that energy is great, you don't want to run your race in the barn, so sometimes you have to go to extraordinary measures to get them to sleep and rest up. I am an animal abuser. The night before the race, we show the horses this video....... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsJDBEkmvhY
  15. I'm going off of info here. Just like I did when someone said Murray said Eichel interviewed with 8-10 teams. The NHL is so far behind the NFL in this process. It's in our own city, and nobody has a clue. I guess they put down the basketball court for drills and guys are crashing, slipping all over, planking......McDavid hit the floor hard according to Hamilton, (Which is WHY you should interview him...especially if the limit isn't 10....makes it even crazier not to if that is the case).
  16. I would interview him too. This whole thing is just a little off to me. I'm not saying they want to trade the pick, but it feels like he would be open to it, and not for some Lindros deal...Eichel isn't Lindros...Lindros was a certified bull.
  17. You and Neo are part of the life core for sure. Even if the Sabres stink, you guys always have a cleansed lesson to teach even if you've seen a lot of bad stuff go down. This is the reason I stick around. You can learn much more from here about life than hockey.
  18. Well, then cross Tim Murray off as a reliable source of information.....
  19. Then why blow an interview on Eichel? If you would take McDavid without interviewing him, why not Eichel? Especially since the team which send out pamphlets bragging about all their 1st and 2nd picks.....wouldn't it make more sense to interview a guy in the 10-15 range? You only have 10 interviews. What could Eichel possibly say in an interview that would stop you from drafting him? He's not telling you he's going back to college even if he is thinking about it.
  20. I'm in. Whatever works....no terms, just NHL goals scored next year.
  21. So you wouldn't trade him for the #3 pick in a draft where that would usually be the # 1 pick? I think Hanifin will be a true #1 in short order. I'm sure if Arizona was interested, you could grab another prospect or a pick or 2. Hanzal scores more goals than Eichel next year is my guess. fair enough.....hugs.... Then Tim Murray just told his daughter with the club foot, "Sure honey....you can be the lead in the ballet at the Met next year!" If he thought there was even a 5% chance Eichel goes first, he should be all over a McDavid interview. You may see something on McDavid hit the media the next few weeks for all we know.
