Borgen certainly would have fit the bill. McCabe, when healthy, steps up when needed. I think the Sabres only get a draft pick in Return for Staal. He old, not very good, and disgruntled. We’d be lucky to get a 2nd. I’m actually hoping we can get that much.

Well we aren’t intentionally tanking...yet. Drafting a D in the top 3 when the top 3 prospects are D shouldn’t be a reflection on Dahlin at all. I mean I still think he’s never, ever going to live up to the hype and he’s never going to be a player most fans appreciate because he doesn’t hit (enough for the knuckle draggers) or fight.

If they can get 2nd round picks for Hall, Staal and Montour and some mid round picks for the other UFAs I guess I’ll be somewhat placated until next season. Preferably picks in next years draft as I hear it’s much deeper. Trading Sam may be ROR bad. He’s so good. If the price is right tho, gonna be hard to pass up unloading a player they may not be able to afford anyway.
