They're streaming stuff. This is the feed from Twitter: https://www.pscp.tv/w/1mrGmvREVrwJy You can also get a feed from the Sabres website, but the one off Twitter doesn't require Flash.

I can't see how this is a rational thing to say given Miller's fancy stats and the Sabres' D last season.
-
FWIW, Dahlin and McCabe hit. Nelson isn't too shy, either. And, apart from random games early in the season, teams don't seem to lay on the heavy until after Christmas. Bogo, if he's here, is likely to be off IR. Honestly, the odd man out seems to be Scandella. I think Botterill wants to try and move him, plus one of either Risto or Bogo. The latter two are almost a wash, at least on certain nights. Some nights last season Bogo actually looked good, but there's no way we keep him. McCabe is a stay-at-home D man, if that's what you mean. Whatever he signs for, he'll be cheaper than Risto.

What's he worth, an eighth round pick?

So, between @Hoss's write-up on the farm, the average age of the team, it makes me wonder if they're toying with the idea of going four drafts without a number one. Just a weird thought, not that I buy it. However, if they offer sheet Marner, say, they have the offensive talent and blue line to last 5 to 6 seasons - right? It could be conceivable, though a risky gamble. Just one Cup and we're good for another decade. Thinking about it further, if Botterill were confident in RK, that would tip the scales on a move like that. If he believed in RK, it would make the move far less risky.

As a defender on an organized team that utilizes strategies, positioning and game fundamentals, he's not good. The only reason to keep him is that he has raw, untamed talent which you think putting on the second line will make tamable. I don't know.
-
So glad to have you back around. The logic here almost excuses wanting Risto to stay. I'm in the big, 2C or finishing winger trade camp, though. I think one of our "valuable" D gets moved for some offense. Botterill does indeed seem intent on roster surgery. There's at least one too many D men, now.

Hmmm. Without Tage, even, you make it seem like the pipeline is stocked pretty well.

What if the quarter they find winds up being a 1870 CC Liberty Seated Quarter?
-
Sir, please proceed with your argument.

I guess that's what you'd expect from a competent GM, something many around here do not credit Botterill for being. I'm glad it looks as through we're being aggressive.

A serious psychological condition is far more interesting than a running joke, though.

If they put him where he belongs, and, IMHO, that's on the first line with Jack and Jeff, I could see him easily breaking 40 points, probably getting 50 or more. I think most of that will come as assists. He's good on the walls and has the other two to finish. To me, the only real question is if Olofsson can hang on that line for the season.

No friggin' way. My call is 24-18-42.

He gives up at the very end there and allows the enemy to take the shot.

I wouldn't mind this conceptually if there was some reason to believe the team's performance would be biased more toward the first half of last season than the second half. I mean, there was no reason for them to not be in the wildcard mix except for blowing all four tires plus the spare - unless it was coaching. While I'm interested in the boldness of the RK hire, I'm equally a-feared it will fail.

@Taro T, if you write something that you can't rewrite in a forum reply/post box, you should always, always, "select all" and "copy" before you submit the post. Although, I think you have an usually higher instance of disappearing posts, and so would recommend writing them in notepad or something like that first so your...ahem...computer gremlins don't waste your time.

Botterill's Drafting in Regards to Size and Physicality

Are we back to Cozen's having a questionable hockey IQ? I can't keep up. -
I think it's time for "the analytics" to put up or shut up. If the numbers are good, why hesitate?

Sabrez 50: Burn It With Fire

It's a bunch of people who think they know better than everyone else. Who are desperate to come up with something that "beats" the retro designs, or even the goat-head. The egos are immense.

@Randall Flagg, that was an excellent summary of RAPM charts! I liken them as the modern player "baseball" card.
