That's the reason he's a number 1 pick. -
Don't know about replacing Gilmour. I haven't watched the Islanders yet, so I can't guess what kind of game-play matching is required tonight, but they do need a spark. Is Montour the guy who can do that? I say no, because the active D approach last night is part of what killed them.

Welcome back. Sorry you had to come back to this. Somewhere, someone ought to be ashamed. -

There is no f#$king way Dahlin or any player can be singled out for the aggregate results of this period. Sure, each one has had bum plays, but this here is coaching and GMing. -

Yes, the Sabres best be prepared. This will be, perhaps, the first good test of where we're at. -
At least he got around to letting the team know before the next game.

This disagreement will never be resolved.

I agree with this. @inkman's point on Ham Sammich stands independent of this.

I don't think you read the posts. @DarthEbriate talks about things that the docs cover and no one in this thread has called LOTR or The Hobbiit a cash grab. I saw the docs and I know what they went through to make those movies and they still screwed them up. I've a mild interest in seeing Mortal Engines, but because it's a PJ film and world, have had little motivation to fire it up. While the Tolkien movies are "made well", and I totally think they are, the artistic choices were bad. The quality of the film-making is what, to me, makes them worth watching, not their interpretation(s) of the stories.

That is a great idea. I have a storm drain outside my property...

BTW, anyone know what happened to @Randall Flagg? He's been AWOL for a while it seems. -

Totally. There are differences, though. Last season, we didn't start banking points from game 1 on, and this group this year seems better positioned (at least currently) to maintain .500 level hockey through April. Also, we have trade-chips for the deadline where we could find a player who might ensure .500 level hockey, at least. -
A $9 million dollar defenseman better damn-well be good! We're not talking Scandella level here.

Is there a conclusion to be drawn here? HELICOPTER CRASHES INTO GARAGE HOURS AFTER MAN PARKS CAR INSIDE "If the man didn't park his car in the garage, the car wouldn't have been destroyed," said insurance adjuster Cheatum Badde. "I'm not sure the owner of the car was in the right, here." The owner of the car, 34 year old Aryu Squrewed, is being investigated for using his garage as a parking location for his car. Police say there have been reports of the car being seen parked in the garage going back months.

Not to argue, but, rather, to discuss... I don't see how Montour could change the makeup of the D as it's presently being used. He's no 24 minute a night guy and we already have plenty of puck-moving D. No one on the team seems disinterested at this point, so "healthy internal competition" isn't going to factor in. If anything, I'm a little concerned that inserting Montour will create the step back rather than address the slow-slippage in play we've seen creep into the team since the first few games. -
Especially when the cap-hit estimates for Dahlin flung around this board over the summer were as high as $12mil if memory serves.
