@seer775, I see you deleted the post I was in the midst of replying to where you claimed Mitts was in Rochester while Byram was in the hospital. But the fact remains that Byram has played just nine less NHL games than Mitts at the same stages of their careers. Perhaps you remembered that Mitts already had 114 NHL games under his belt before being sent to Rochester for 36 games 2019/2020.

Byram has played just nine games less than Mitts did after his first four season and was a 2nd pair D man on one of the top teams in the league. “Broken 3rd pair defenseman” is simply not an accurate description.
-
Yeah, I stood corrected when @Doohickiepointed that out previously.
-
More like half your entire D as three of those lefties are playing their natural side on any given shift, but your point is well taken and we need a good RD, regardless.
-
Thanks for the clarification. Seems Mitts just wasn't in their plans to sign long term.
-
While concussions are easier to sustain after the first one, there is a ton of gray area on the matter. Bowen has had three diagnosed concussions. Sidney Crosby has had four and has missed more than a hundred games in his career as a result. Would you have liked a trade for Crosby? Makar has had two as well, would you take him on your team? I suspect it’s less about the concern of a history with concussions as it is the quality of the player.

If Mitts wasn’t in their plans and they were never going to re-sign him, it does make sense to get something for him vs. letting him walk away as a free agent for nothing. This is not a vote of support for the trade as Mitts was finally coming into his own and I prefer that we had kept him, but it’s not hard to understand the reasoning behind the move at this time.

Winnipeg is also playing their 3rd in 4 and a back to back and they had to travel last night but they seem to have a lot left in the tank. -

Somebody needs to shiv Scheifele in the nuts. That was some cheap, bush league crap with the chop to the back of Dahlin’s leg. -

This stretch of the Warriors’ WHL schedule is grueling as Moose Jaw will have played 4 in 5 and three in a row after Sunday’s game. Anyone know how to spell stamina?
-
Marty definitely has the chops for color commentary, but play by play is an entirely different animal; more of an art form really, one that requires intense concentration, articulation, and stamina that allows a listener to close his eyes and follow the play sheerly from the description. The Sabres currently don’t employ anyone who is even close to being able to do it right.
