No, you can use the 52" in your bathroom.
As for 3D, I spent a little time using a 3D tv for the first time over the weekend. Interesting effect on games, but not really worth it for movies. I'll hold off on it for awhile yet. But you know 3D is the buzzword of the year.

52" LED 3D, with the package that sends all your watching habits and a live video feed to the FBI, CIA, NASA, and your mother.

If you do own the house, is there terrain higher up than your house causing water to run down the hill towards your house? If so, install a french drain. It will significantly reduce the amount of water that your drainage system (perimeter drain, sump system, etc) has to deal with.
I think they call those freedom drains now.

Congress. Actually, just about anything government-related. I'm beginning to think that with the internet as it is, we restrict Congress to drafting legislation and then letting the general public vote on it online. I don't think things would be any worse and might even get better.....
New law: Free flat screen TVs to everyone with yearly upgrades. Oh, and we'll be taking away all your rights while we're at it. I bet it would pass a popular vote.

Friend called yesterday to hang out on his way thru town and suggested we go over to Victory Brewing since he had never been there. Can't beat that. Oh wait, I can: Yakima Glory is back, and Hop Devil on hand-pump, yummy.

Can we add in one more detail to that? We need a Running Man type situation where Korab, GoDD, nFreeman, and others hunt down and kill them. This would bring so much more traffic to this website (and a whole new batch of targets for that mystery island).

Going to a party/dinner/party/out event (in that order) tonight, that's my good thing for the day. Don't wait up, kids!

I wish I'd found out back then that this was a trap waiting to happen. I can only advise those of you who have yet to buy your first house to stay away from these places. If you find out it's been sold to Wells Fargo, refi ASAP!!! Otherwise, if you have to shortsell or you run into trouble, they WILL stab you in the back.
Same thing happened to me, but I was warned. I haven't had any issues with WF though, good to know.

Your bike has a voodoo car doll.
The bike is pretty jealous, I haven't ridden in a week or two and she's filthy from the trips before that. I'm giving her a sponge bath this weekend. Not quite as dirty as the picture, but still a bit.

OK, real complaint:
I have a relatively new car. Last Friday (I think), I must have nicked a curb and gouged up both right-side rims, to the point that I probably should replace them. The front has a chunk out of the tire's sidewall, so I'll probably be tossing an 11,000 mile old tire too. The rims will be at least $100 each to repair, or significantly more to replace. Then, Saturday I was parked on the side of a road at a party and the neighbor backed out and hit my car. At least that one only damaged the bumper and tail light and I don't have to pay for it. The car was nearly perfect before this. :censored:

My body is not happy with being on travel and eating really badly. I suppose I should go a night or two without having some beer, but what else is travel for? On the plus side, chicken and waffles were amazing last night.

Today is my 31st birthday. I'm sick with a nasty head cold/sinus infection, and for the first time in my life I feel old.
While I know the feeling, you're only (reasonably speaking) as old as you act. In the last couple weeks I've been partying harder that I did in college and I'm 35. It's a bit tougher to get up in the morning, but if you keep at it, you'll develop a rhythm and it'll work.
As for my complaint: I have a really tough time reading some people in social situations. Like, don't have a clue what they're thinking.

I'm on travel this week to Suffolk VA, and Thursday is always Bier Garden night. But it's after 6 and we're waiting on some putz to deliver a couple laptops before we can leave. If I don't get some schnitzel tonight I'm gonna be mad!

No, on my desktop at work... MattPie used to be the close-up with a red motorcycle helmet and changed to sitting on a motorcycle with a grey Sabres shirt, and Braedon's changed from the bearded lady mug shot to some black background with a star and a figure in front of it. Confusing!
Yep, just changed it the other day. It's from last week and since it's more Sabres-themed it seemed apropos. Question for the panel, actual picture of yourself as an avatar: good or bad? It's not an option many use around here.
I should have put that in the Friday list though: I went to a party last Saturday based around a backyard mini-motocross race. I borrowed a bike and a couple friends and I tore around the 'track' (it's more of a pretty hairy woods trail with logs and whatnot up and down the side of a hill). It was a *blast*.

:lol: It's early in the season, so we'll give him a pass... if the date is still conflicting with game night in March and April, then he'll have a problem.
:) We'll see. It's my own fault though, I suggested tonight without consulting my printout of the October Sabres calendar.

Dennis Ritchie has reportedly died. He was one of the founders of the C programming language and UNIX operating system. You guys probably don't know who he is, but odds are almost 100% you're carrying around a phone that uses the language, and if Android or IOS, possibly some of the code he wrote. The computer you're using almost certainly uses bits of code and it does use the language.

I have a date tomorrow night (spoliers for the F'N Friday thread!) and I don't know how to date someone local any more. The last two girlfriends lived out of town, and the one before that our first date was in 2003. Anything changed in the last 8 years?

I only way I can stop my brain from hurting when it comes to creation and time and whatnot is that time is simply not the linear progression that humans see it as. It's the only thing that makes any sense to me. There may well be some being, "God" if you will, that can perceive time or the universe in a different way and is therefore omnipotent. I've also wondered if the answer to "Why doesn't God just show himself and remove all doubt?" is that his time runs significantly faster than ours and he nipped out for a beer (so to speak), or that he's busy somewhere else. What I do know is that I don't have the answers, and since I don't think anyone has much more info than I do I'm suspicious of anyone that claims they do.

Complaint: I sit in a smallish room at work with 3 cubes in it, next door to a server room. It's fa-reezing in here. I chalk it up to having 1/4 of the servers in the other room (virtualization and bugdet), and 1/3 of the people (budget). There used to be 3 bodies, 9 monitors, and 7 computers running in this room, and now it's down to 1 body, 3 monitors, and 2 computers. I feel like Mr. Rogers; I get to work, take of the bike jacket, and put on a fleece/sweater.
It's nice that I don't have to worry about playing music though! :)
