I like it! There are lots of kinda-drunk Irish bands, but not as many country ones that I've run into. Thanks!

Went down into Philly last night. Hit a Beer Garden (complete with trees and picnic benches), had beer and sausages, and hung out with good friends. Beautiful day/night to ride with no rain (forecast was pretty ugly).
Hot tub party in Binghamton tomorrow, and I get to ride some more this weekend despite the rain.

How do you link/embed a youtube video?
In the post editor, there's an icon in the middle with three multicolor boxes (RGB). Click on that and paste the URL into the box that pops up.

Matt, IDK if you can dig some classical, but I at least hope this will be a bit more cheerful:
I tend towards the big, heavy classical stuff. Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Rachmaninoff, and the like (it just ocurred to me that they're all Russian too). I had a friend in high school that played those on piano and I loved listening to her.
EDIT: Thanks, BTW. You've just picked my music for today in the office. I'll be digging thru all the classical on my ipod.

Nope, we need to blare butt-rock in the arena all the time.

Getting paid bi-weekly sucks sometimes.
On a side note, does anyone know anything about the law regarding work? I have tix to the game Saturday, and yesterday my job announced that some of us have to work overtime on Saturday, and that it is mandatory we do so. First time in 4 years that they pulled this.
I don't think you have a leg to stand on. I'd imagine you could make some sort of claim that it violates the 40-hour week or something, but that would be the fast track to losing the job entirely.

Wow, it's like listening to the Blues, but it actually makes you depressed instead of cheering you up.
Sadly, I can completely relate to Mel on that song, but this isn't the right thread for that.

I guess years and years of college hockey games have pretty much ruined "pump up" songs for me. It's always nickelback or Metallica or Rise Against. I guess I just don't see the heart in a bunch of bro rock, dated metal, or Robbie Takac.
This.

By the sound of it your a pretty active guy. I live about a 100 yards from the biggest lake west of the rockies ( which is Klamath Lake ) I love getting out and riding next to it.
Had a victory pilsner tonight. They make yummy beers. I'm jealous that you live that close to the brewery.
Hmm, these to posts together are giving me an idea... It's 9mi via the shortest route. Getting out there isn't too big a deal, it's pretty flat or downhill. The problem is the 200ft climb right at the end of the return trip. I'll have to go ride down the hill and back up to see if it kills me.
For Friday: I'm happy that I'm going to help a friend clean out his flooded house in Binghamton and not the other way around. Sucks for him, of course.

Would seem apropos, even though I dislike the song. I much prefer the Weird Al version. :)

I'm not going to Tweet this though, since I'd hate to listen to it on a regular basis.

I'm trying to get in shape. Just in the last week, I'm seeing improvements with everything I'm doing except shoulder/back stuff. I can't find a way to work myself into doing pull-ups. I can't do one, and trying to use my legs to 'help' seems to be a lot more leg than pullup. I really don't want to deal with a gym, but I can't think of good way to work into what's a full-body weight exercise.

I actually have a truck that works now.
EDIT: Has anyone noticed that the F'N title for this thread matches the FN Center that our boys will be in this coming season?
Actually, I think that was planned. The thread was called something else initially. (there's a couple posts on page one about it)

I just got a haircut and plan on taking a bike ride aswell. Mountain bike that is :pirate:
I did the bicycle too tonight, but MTB on the street. I live in a pretty hilly area; the creek that's probably 1/2 mile away is 200' below my house by elevation. 30 mins, 3 miles, and I'm whooped.

A beer thats really not that good.
It's better on tap than in bottles, but it's not the end-all.
Speaking of which, I'm F'N ecstatic that I could stop at Victory on the way home from getting a haircut today and have a beer while filling up a couple growlers. Hop Devil and Moonglow, and a Headwaters Pale for the wait. The sky is also amazing today as well, and I was out on the bike. Other than having to work all night, it doesn't get much better!

1. I am thankful that I live in an area not flooded.
Ditto. It's been crazy here in SE PA.
I'm pretty happy that I have a few good friends that I can lean on when I need it. It's tough to see sometimes, but I got it pretty good.

The Susquehanna River flooding in Owego in '06 crested at 35.9'
They're saying that this time around, it could crest soon at 40+' I guess. I didn't read it, but my buddy sent me the Press and Sun Article He's from Endicott
Wow. I used to live about 3 blocks off the right side of that photo in Owego.
-
you wouldn't believe some of the flooding down this way - Look for some news reports out of Binghamton - the weather channel has been there since yesterday.
If I remember right, the flood wall on the south side of the Susquehanna in Apalachin is a foot or two lower than the Endicott side. If the water makes it over the wall that far, they're all hosed since the wall is at least a story high and there's nothing to stop the water from pouring in. A buddy in Johnson City has already been flooded out, the water was coming into the first floor of the house when he left.

And if it's a big enough lobotomy, you'll lose the same amount of weight you just added.
I have to be careful though, too much and I'll become a Flyers fan.

Went out to lunch with some coworkers. Despite my renewed compliance to my diet, I was seduced by a cheesesteak on a *garlic bread* roll. Now I have to have a labotomy do forget how amazing is tasted.

LOL - Central PA at its finest. Thankfully Devon Seafood is further away. ;) That intersection is still closed, and even where the water has receded the road is pretty beat up.
That jump looks like it'd be fun in the right vehicle.

OK, I had to laugh a little at all the references to "the Bob Evans," "the Wendy's," and "the Pizza Hut." I shouldn't; I know it must be difficult on the Hershey area, but sorry--that's really funny.
Not the Pizza Hut!
(I had the same thought when I saw the clip too.)

2. There are several new traffic circles that have been constructed in WNY over the last few years, and people are clueless as to how something so simple works....the cars ENTERING the circle YIELD to cars IN the circle. Do you idiots not know what yield means?
Maybe they're from New Jersey, they generally run the traffic circles backwards there (traffic in the circle yields to entering traffic). So messed up.

Still in the friend zone, completely blew up my friendship with my ex-gf (which, yes, is a complaint since she's a great person), and it's been FN raining for days. Made the trip from Buffalo to Philly on the bike with the last 200 miles thru the remnants of Lee on Tuesday.

Friend zone. :censored: And I'm comically inept at social things.

I forgot to bring in salad dressing and the company store is closed. I'm looking at 3/4lb of plain spinach, carrots, and broccoli.
