I'm on some awful rhythm right now where it seems like I never get home for work and errands before 8PM, but I can't go to sleep for a few hours so I get up late the next day and the whole thing starts over.

I thought I'd try logging into the board with my Google info using OpenID, but I can't figure it out. I tried my Google profile URL (http://www.google.com/profile/<google username>), and one I fond on the net, http://www.google.com/accoutns/o8/id, but neither seem to work. Anyone have this working?

I really dislike the guy that Keeps pissing in the bushes at the house next door. Take it in the house or go to the house on the other side of yours, stop pissing in the bushes.
If they're your bushes, hide an electric fence in them. Enough for a zap, not enough to do permanent damage.

It's complaint clearing house here.
- Can't find skates that fit.
- Long-term girlfriend is leaving.
- Slow leak in one of my car tires, so I have to inflate it every couple days.
- Left my Thermos in Buffalo last visit.
- I haven't seen a home Sabres game since the late 90s. I've been to several away games though.
- Too much salt on the roads to ride my bike.
- Can't find skates that fit.

Dell laptop batteries - I am really getting disgusted with Dell's declining quality. I bought my first Dell laptop back in Fall 2004 (five years ago) and the battery still works fine. And this thing has really been beaten up by me and the elements - this is the one that had the storm window fall on it and crack the case, for those that remember.
That's surprising, it's rare that I find a laptop here at work of that vintage with a battery that works at all.
Fast-forward to 2007, when I needed to replace my desktop and bought a new Inspiron laptop. First I had to complain and piss and moan because the original model they send me had a design defect where the sound card and headphone jacks pick up noise from the processor and motherboard, eventually getting me an upgrade to a redesigned upgraded model, which they sent to me in March 2008. Over the last couple weeks my battery has stopped taking a charge and Dell wants $140 to replace a battery that is less than 18 months old. :wallbash:
That sucks. Not that it helps now, Apple's guide to Li-Ion batteries (what just about all electronic devices use these days) is pretty good. You shouldn't discharge them all the time (like the old NiCD and NiMH batteries), but you should discharge them at least every month otherwise the battery loses capacity. Apple explains it better than me:

I heard a term a few weeks back that made me gag a little. It was "weisure time." A combination of the words work and leisure. The concept was that because we're so connected, we can mix both our work and our play time. A good example would be golfing and answering emails on an iPhone. Perhaps taking the kids to the park but handling a conference call from a bench.
I dunno, I was working from a coffee shop on my laptop while my car was being worked on, that was kinda nice rather than rent a car for the day and go into the office.

And get the place to throw them in the oven too, if that's an option. I've had my CCMs for about 5 years now without any problems. Stuff I had in the past that was never really fitted to my foot used to cause some trouble.
I haven't been on skates in a long time, but the heat-and-mold ski boots I have are 1000% more comfortable anything I had before them. I have to think someone is doing the same thing with hockey skates.

My ONLINE class that I need to stay on campus an extra hour for to take an IN class mid-term. Figure that one out.
Perhaps so you don't have 5 people helping you look up answers?

I have nothing to complain about. I make enough money to survive well, I have food to eat, and a few people seem to like me (not on here, of course). What more does one really need?

I can't get grass to grow in my back yard, so I mowed a bunch of dirt with grassy patches on Tuesday night and stirred up dirt & dust clouds the size of Texas. I think I'm still coughing from it.
The grass in my yard grows too damn fast. I'm out there cutting it all the freaking time. :)

My complaint is when you go to scrape the last of the peanut butter out of the jar and the knife scrapes the side and you get plastic shavings in your PB & J. Also when you reach all the way down low you get peanut butter all over your hands.
I use the back-side of a butter knife. No shavings that way!

Complaint #2 - Overhead electronic road signs. We've had them on I-87 in the Albany area for several years, but about 99% of the time, they're blank. The idea (which is a good one, IMO) is to inform motorists of any potential accident or upcoming road work that would affect their commute or travel. Unfortunately, it backfires...every time the sign has an announcement, people slow down to a crawl just before they reach the sign (as if they have to study it), then move on. We could be cruising along at 65mph with no problems, then we hit the brakes and slow to about 20 just before the sign, then speed up and resume our normal speed.
Well, what do you expect from the Albanians? :) :)
The have them here in the Philly Suburbs and they generally list the time and distance to some exit up ahead. It's really nice since it'll be "Time to US322: 5 miles 6 minutes" if it's clear ahead, or "5 miles 15 minutes" if it's all hosed up. Plus they do announce accidents. My only gripe is they don't always update them quickly, so it'll say there's a problem and I'll be on the back road looking over at an empty highway. :(

Well mind you that while I pride myself on eating every morsel of meat off 'dem bones, these aren't the meatiest wings around. (Although.....decent. Fatheads is the best I've had in Pittsburgh; this was at Buffalo Blues.) I actually ate 51 wings on my birthday back in September. So last night, somewhere between Wing 32 and Wing 37 I had ordered another half dozen while also recalling the trauma I had suffered during my 51-wing performance. So I decided to spare myself a little misery and smuggle them out for another day. It wasn't really that hard... they were served in a little cardboard basket, so I used the previous basket as a top for the one I smuggled out (you might be able to tell that I'm a Mechanical Engineer ;) ), and my housemate made sure they didn't spill while I drove home.
I don't doubt it, I've polished off three dozen before. Perhaps not in Buffalo, but you find some rather small wings in other places.

Shopping malls. Yeah, I was suckered in because I had to buy presents for the family and the mall is right across the street from my office. I hate it when vendors at a kiosk-type stand shout out to you to "borrow" you for just a minute while she shows her hand & nail products, then demonstrates them on you....when all you want to do is keep walking right past them.
At least she was hot. :thumbsup:
Just keep walking, it's not like they're going to chase you or grab you. It seems rude, but they started it. :)

How does DirecTV justify charging $100 extra per season to watch football games in HD? Every NFL game on CBS/Fox is broadcast free in HD. So if I turn on the Ravens in Baltimore I get a very nice HD picture. If I turn on the Bills on DirecTV I get a crappy SD signal.. It ain't right.
I could go into a technical explanation on how HD signals require 4x times the bandwidth, and satellites are expensive, but they have something you want, and they can charge you for it. Capitalism, baby.

Or if he was really smart, he would make cars that actual got over 30 MPG city and then they wouldnt have to worry about everyone doing the "un-American thing" and buying cars from Toyota and Honda that actually work like their spose to.
But the good news is, i saw gas for under $2 at a Byrne Dairy near me so i can't complain about gas prices.

Executive summary: Toyota hasn't laid any full-timers off in the US since 2006. They have their workers take classes, do drills, etc. in hopes that they'll be productive and happy when the production lines start rolling again. Estimated cost? $50mil, or one CEO golden parachute.

I can't complain about the rate I locked in 3 weeks ago (local, small town bank). But I will complain about realtors. Do they all do just about anything possible (including lying) to get you to buy their listings?
Mine didn't. She was actually up-front and mentioned before we got to them that a few houses were listed by the same agency, not even by her directly. Sounds like you need a better realtor.

I hate it when people use a clich?d line incorrectly. :) The phrase is 'queerer than a three dollar bill', because there is a real two-dollar bill.

My taxes went up $82 this year. I'm not complaining. I have it pretty good, so if my taxes go to somewhere that helps other people so be it. It's all about perspective.
