  1. A year after the trade...let's take a look at it to see how things have settled.

Kane, Bogosian and Kasdorf for Myers, Stafford, Lemieux and a 1st round that was Roslovic at 25th overall.

Roslovic is playing for Miami University in Ohio and is their leading scorer with 21 points in 27 games. Shoots right and has a lot of offensive upside.

Lemieux has been traded part way through the year from Barrie to Windsor and has 45 points in 32 games. He was suspended for an illegal hit earlier in the season and plays with an edge. Will probably play for the Jets before the 2016-2017 season is over.

Armia has played over 20 games with the Jets now and is playing defensively sound hockey. This has given the coach to play him in more situations. Rarely caught out of position. Destined to play on the 2nd line if he keeps it up.

Myers has played 78 games and has scored 34 points. He played a big part in the Jets making the playoffs last year. He is mainly paired with Enstrom and sees time on special teams as well. He has a 5.5m caphit and he is signed for 3 more seasons after this one. His actual salary is 5m this year and 4m, 3.5m, 3m for the last three seasons. Plays in all situations but should be much more aggressive, especially for his size.

Stafford re-signed for 4.35m per year for two years and has played 75 games while scoring 47 points. A big winger that can score and has also seen time on special teams and was also a big part of the Jets making the playoffs last year. He has played all over the lineup this year andhas played well wherever he was put.

Unless the play of Kane and Bogo increase dramatically, the analysts will look at this trade and say it favors Winnipeg. After one year I would have to say that the trade seems to favor the Jets. Mainly because of the play of the players they traded away. Staf has a higher ppg than Kane and Myers is a better D man than Bogo. Chances are Kasdorf doesn't making starting goalie on the farm and Armia, Lemieux and Roslovic all make the big team. Way to go Chevy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG give it up are you kidding me...

  2. I think Moulson totally sucks and doesn't even belong in the line up let alone on the top line

When players like Moulson Gionta Weber and a few others are replaced with younger faster better hockey players this team will be a real strong playoff team. Meanwhile while they are still on the team faster teams will give us fits and losses like last night.

  3. Here is a rule change I think they should add...

When a goalie goes down for an injury and the game is stopped while the puck is still in the defending goalie's zone the goalie should be required to sit for one whistle.  Ryan Miller did a nice job of faking an injury today to stop some good pressure....as an example and then he stays in the game...

  4. Ya, the Jets fan favorite is Buff but we are racist....

What you bolded was what he complained about or did before the trade.

Opening his mouth yesterday and whining shows his lack of class.

I'm glad he is gone. So far, Stafford has more than replaced him and there is no internal bickering centered around Kane.

He wasn't traded because management wanted him gone, he was traded because his team mates wanted him gone.

He was playing through a shoulder injury but as soon as the sweatpants went into the shower, he wants surgery....like a spoiled little brat that he is.

Well thats great u dont have to deal with him anymore...Time to move on Like your coach said right????

  5. Thanks guys, appreciate it. I feel just like you both, uncertain on what I'll unwrap this year but excited as hell about it and the core we have

I keep explaining to people that it's not just that we've been bad for awhile, but that because we've purposefully tanked the last two years, this is the first legitimate hockey game we can enjoy in 2 years.

    I like it

I am so sick of the word "core" my stomach turns everytime i see or hear it..  Visions of an underachieving group of heartless players dance in my head..So why dont we all just go back to the word that best describes a blood thirsty stanley cup chasing team...."HEART"

I like the HEART of this team...

    GO SABRES...

  6. I've run my course here.  I've enjoyed talking hockey and OT topics over the years.  The board dynamics have changed a lot.  Maybe it's just me getting older.

Might still lurk anonymously from time to time, but my posting days are over.

    Go Sabres!

I dont have the 10k post award like you do but I use to post here quite regularly.  I lurk every day but I just never felt like what my opinion on any  one thread would change the outcome of the issue being discussed..So I stopped posting pretty much..However I do like reading everyone elses opinions....I enjoy reading a fans perspective and opinion much more than someone who gets paid to meet a deadline...SO keep up the good work all of you!!!  :)  I will miss your posts LB

  7. I'm a new season ticket holder (only four years on the waiting list, I thought it would be much longer) and like many season ticket holders, I'm looking to sell some of my seats.

Looking for advice from some of you who do the same. It seems like stub hub milks both the buyer and seller for fees and I'm unsure about Craigslist. Any advice?

BTW, there in section 114 row 8 and I split the tickets with someone so I don't have all the games.

    Thanks

PM me my son and I are looking into buying 10 games  this yr

  8. That's funny.

Cody Hodgson has good hands, he's strong on the puck, has good vision, and puck handling skills......but just finished a year with the coach that was least likely to create any of the opportunities to use his said skill set. I'm at a loss to think what might become of him.

It don't know if he recovers a career from the mess that 2014-15 was.

I agree...He showed at times his good puck handling skills but it seemed those were very few and way to far between.  He might very well get bought out. I am on the fence on giving him another year but I'm leaning on that side more than the other. It would be neat to see him and Grigorenko get theyre poop together on the same line next year and shock everyone....That would be amazing for the Sabres if they did

  9. I'm liking the deal for Kane more and more as time goes on. Armia will be 22 next month and he scored only 2 goals in 21 games since joining St. John's after the trade. He might never be an NHL regular, and Lemieux wasn't going to sign with Buffalo anyway.

It's widely known that McDavid wanted to end up in Toronto or Buffalo, and the one team he didn't want to go to was Edmonton. So let's see how this plays out. I doubt Edmonton trades the pick, but what if McDavid refuses to sign? This thing is far from over IMO, he could go back to junior and set records playing a full season while a deal is worked out.

  10. Seeing as how the league doesn't even care about its star players suffering brain injuries from cheap shots, I really don't think they're going to spring into action and change how they award draft picks due to Tim Murray's whining last night.

Which is another reason his performance last night was completely idiotic.

"We're really excited that we're going to have the opportunity to draft a special player to add to all the young talent we already have.  The future is really bright for our team."

    Milbury was interesting.

I want someone competent.  Last night was a red flag.

Your opinions lose credibility once you start agreeing with freaking Mike Hillbilly....
