  1. You can only be let down if you have high expectations. I can thank two decades of Buffalo futility to temper my expectations to near zero. My brain tells me they should be better now that they are out from under Dan Abysmal but my learnings have taught me to know better.

A friend told me once and I quote " The secret to happiness is low expectations"  C. Lally

  2. I don't have any problem with Murray not trading Kane.  He is only 25 and just entering his prime.  I would just make darn sure I sign him before he goes anywhere near UFA.  I was a little surprised he didn't move Girgensons for a defenseman.  I thought if anyone needed a change of team it was him and I think he could've brought a nice dman in return.  Not too many trades made today and I wonder if it had anything at all to do with the upcoming expansion draft or maybe that some teams who are having down years think its just due to an abnormally bad year for their team and they prefer to keep what they have...In any event heres to better times as a Sabres fan

  3. Don't think I've hated DB more than I do right now. He is worse than Rolston.

Ive had enough of DB myself. His line changes are horribly timed, his scheme is is equivalent to a baby elephant being born sideways.

This team is a sine wave. We lost tonight, and will thus crush the Leafs on Saturday. I can't wait.

Ennis had more minutes than Jack until the power play at the end. And roughly three times as many as Carrier would get any given night, and Carrier is a much better hockey player than Ennis right now. Sigh

    Sam had 14:21.

That was ROR's worst game as a Sabre, hands down.

We like to play a heavy game. When you go to the game and watch warmups, you can tell that they know they're big and can intimidate, there's a swagger there. Hard to explain. Well, the Ducks are bigger and play heavier, and don't let us walk around the slot with only a weak stick wave as their answer. The NHL clearly doesn't call interference and holding. ###### it. Start interfering and holding. Other teams are getting away with it and subsequently snuffing our offense and outshooting us badly. Let's play the way the league wants hockey to be played. I'm sick of hoping for rule changes and for refs to blow the whistle. They aren't going to any time soon.

I would trade Ennis for Brian Campbell straight up right now almost ten years later..LOL...He is a useless hockey player on a hockey team..If hockey was a one player sport like tennis he might be skating around the rink with the Stanley Cup. But alas tis not... :wallbash:

  4. At some point in the next 3 yrs Eichel is going to be the captain. You risk losing O'Reilly by giving him the C next year when Eichel is given it sooner rather than later. I hated it back then with the alternating C's with Drury and Brierre but it might not be the worst idea up and coming

  5. IMO Peca is somewhere between Craig Ramsay and Donnie Luce..  Barnaby is in the same neighborhood as Benoit Hogue.  Barnaby isn't top 50 material.

I would like to add that the Cup chase in the late 90's and early 2000's all mostly respinsible because of The Dominator, I feel they wouldnt have been that close if Michael Peca wasnt on those teams. He was not the team Mvp but they dont win without him playing as well as he did in the many roles he filled. With that being said he should definitely be in the high teens imo

  6. I dont really care all that much about free agents.. The best players the Sabres or for that part most any team have had come through the Draft or trades.  Free agents are a bonus if u land a once in a lifetimer,  more often than not they are roster fillers.  If they don't want to come to Buffalo big deal. Hell I live here and just the drive around the 290 to 190 and around makes me want to commit suicide the way people drive around here.

  7. I think Stamkos signs in Detroit for 7 years at 10million per. I think Toronto and Buffalo offer him more money but he likes Detroit better. I am just speculating completely here.

Has any one ever lived in Detroit? Its a freaking cestpool.. If Buffalo didnt have such a bad rap Detroit would be in our spot..Nothing good to offer there....Foreclosed empty homes everywhere, its a joke...

  8.

He went to Russia during the lock-out of 2005, but I believe his contract with the Sabres had expired at the end of 2004.

When he came back he signed a 4 year deal with the Islanders and was OK.  It really went down hill after that.

Totally different team in 99, He had the ability to play 30 minutes if needed, he was well conditioned and played solid defense, he was rock solid in the corners and tough to beat in front of the net. At the end he couldnt hit the broad side of a barn with his shot but he could move the puck and play lots of good defensive minutes

  9. I'd much rather see the Sabres get the 1st overall than TO, Deadmonton or the Coyotes.

TO has been pathetic since ummmmmmmmmmmm 1967?

Deadmonton should be contenders not basement dwellers. How many top picks have they had again.

In defense of these two organizations, they finally seem to be headed in the right direction.

Arizona took the Jets back in the 90s so fack them.

I think the two last places have more or less been decided so it is between the next 4 or so to see who gets to finish 3rd last.

Way off topic Ducky but when I  was last in Winnipeg it was for the World Juniors in 1999 I think, did Winnipeg also replace the old football stadium?
