I have a signed stick from the 99 cup finals by the whole team..I have a good friend on the equipment staff and he let myself and my six yr old in the lockeroom after a game day skate and they all signed it. My son has it now..

Rebuilding takes time and the Sabres have certainly taken their time. With that said, I would not change a thing this year on this team, unless some stupid offer comes their way. I would let them grow together this year and see how far they can take themselves. Thry might surprise us. I would concentrate on signing Skinner.

It's amazing what desire does
Glad Casey got credit, he has been working hard
Yes, it appeared as if Marco could use some maintenance time and birthday boy (Risto) had a tough go of it
Risto looks to me to be getting worse by the game. Anyone else notice this?

Nelson is a stay at home defenseman?
I do not like any part of Nelsons game. He is a liability in all 3 zones. I think the only aspect of his game that is NHL quality is his skating.

I am just about to turn 50, and you just answered the longest running question mark in my head....YES!!!!!!I?

If only Bogo were in tonight. He'd help out with the random lumber that always comes up in Arizona
If Bozo was in the lineup the Sabres would be undefeated. He is a hockey god....?

Any thoughts on how O'Regan looks?

I went for the second time this year..LOL..0-2 when I go, and I left early once again. One thing that is becoming oh so ever clear to me is Kyle Okposo has no business on the powerplay or the top 2 lines. He is never in a position to receive a pass and shoot, he is always fumbling with the puck off a pass to make a shot. He is pathetic on the point and I have no idea why Phyliss has him on the point or for that matter the powerplay. Which brings me to my next point. Can we please stop signing these veteran free agents for gigantic contracs only to watch them suck the life out of the team after they sign up. ENOUGH ALREADY. Make a trade, but stop this ridiculousness..

First five ...Lawton, Sylvain Turgen, LaFontain, Yzerman and Barrasso ...
Later, Neely, Gagne and others. The Sabres had three firsts. Barrasso, Norm Lacombe and Adam Creighton.
1983 ... not just quarterbacks.
edit to add, after GoogleoOOogling. Puppa, Ruuttu and Krupp ... quite a draft. Saw Puppa last weekend, by the way. He’s hard to miss!
Hindsight being 20/20....Too bad we didnt package 2 of those to move up annd grab Stevie Y..LOL....Bowman had some really good first round spots to choose from. He hit on a few greats ones but missed on a couple also. I really thought we would win a Cup with all those picks...

I will always remember Hank for two things. He broke an arm in the deus ex machina 2006 ECF and he paired with Tyler Myers during Myers’ Calder year.
Teppo, Dmitri, and Jay went down. Then Hank. I was looking through the attic for my old Bauers believing I would be signed if one more defenseman was injured.
Myers had what I call the greatest rookie year any Sabre’d ever had, even considering Perreault and Barrasso, and Hank was no small part of it.
Barrasso won the Calder and the Vezina his rookie year. It does not get any better than that. Myers was really good his rookie year but not in the same atmosphere as Barrasso. But I do see where you could feel that way. I grew up watching Barrasso, and I will never forget my first thoughts about watching him play, I thought him of a more athletic and larger Billy Smith. He was great his rookie year.

I fear the post-game interview if our guys get bounced out of the building again. That crowd is going to be even more unforgiving until that first goal goes into the net. And it better not be when it's five to nothing already.
That reminds me, I have to go to Stubhub and lower my price again on these tickets for tonight
Sold ours yesterday, surprisingly i didnt lise money, actually made some...

My son is delivering pizzas for Just Pizza tonight so we will not be going to the game, I have a ton of thoughts rolling through my head after the last game. My first being, should I feel like I was suckered again by purchasing season tickets so early in the season, or is it the past that has soured me and I am making a snap judgement and should give it more time. I am trying to feel positive however I feel like Peter has cried wolf too many times. From BOZOsian being named alternate captain and then missing the first game, to having to wait through almost the whole first intermission to grab a pop, only to then be so fed up with the performance leaving at the end of the second period, I feel like this team is at the edge of the cliff. With that said, I will watch and hope that they show up and hit, pass, score and make me not change the channel. Please let me feel interested...

You should feel lucky. I wish one of my kids would try and talk me into season tix.
I feel lucky my son wants to spend time with me for sure. It's funny, his generation really havent experienced a good fun season...

I am looking forward to tonight's game. I am going with my son. Seeing as he is the one who talked me into seasons for just one more try dad? So i got suckered in again. Although I think they have a legit shot at major improvement even an outside shot at the "p" word if the goalie works out well.

I'm sorry--I was responding to the Gilmour part and not the Dumont part! My fault.
I was moreso saying Dumont was the steal..I think I worded it correctly but maybe not...

Grosek for Dumont (and some garbage)!
Number 93..Dougie Gilmour. That was a steal of a trade. One of my favorite trades of all time. Dumont was a very solid player. Losing him at arbitration was the first step in decimating the Sabres after theyre 2 really good seasons in the mid 2000's

I prefer not to have Jack named Captain. Being named Captain usually ends up bad for the player named Captain for the Sabres for one reason or another.....I prefer we name him SBC..For Should Be Captain. Then we can have two NGETBC. Not Good Enough To Be Captains. ?

I was in favour of an 8 year contract at 6.5 million per. I really think Sam would have gone for it in a second. JBOT would have had cap hit certitude for a long time. I really think that in 2 years time there is no possible way that Sam signs for 6.5 per year. By year 4 of the 8 at 6.5 it will look like a steal, if not in year 3. Anyway, we shall see if JBOT's gamble pays off.
I see where you are coming from then. Hopefully he crushes it this year and as someone posted earlier they reward him next year. We will definitely see what type of management team as far as player negotiations go now. Here is his litmus test.
