Why not make a new topic? There is nothing in this old topic that is relevant to this. It would not be considered a duplicate topic beyond it happens to both share focus on the same player. It is so much better to announce this on its own.

Presuming they will be better next year isn’t necessarily a given. They’re an older team with cap and contract issues…

They are 11 points better than the 10th team right now. They have 20 games to play. Getting their would require extraordinary effort.

What would tanking get them?

I’m not sure if it’s going to be a round 10, but they’re at five and they have a tough stretch coming up. I think they’re gonna get close to that 10. After that blood will be in the water and they will be in and irrecoverable tailspin.

I apologize if this is only perceived as being a mild tangent, but this relates to A soccer coach my son had. He was coached by this dude from England who was a UEFA referee over there. Super knowledgeable of the game. Actually possesses a coveted German Soccer Federation development manual that few people have. Development wise, he told me that scoring was so hard that when coaching kids, he would not even begin to teach defense until they were 14 years old. Everything else before then would concentrate on the development of offense. I found that to be remarkable and completely different than every other American coach either of my children had.

So far, pick number 15 is the runaway sentiment here. In order for that to happen, Vegas will need to stabilize ASAP.

Hanifin is the only one with a full season up on Jack. McDavid is close. Everyone else is around a third of the season or less. I think the point is, there is McDavid and there’s a bunch of other people that produced just like Jack.

I’m not sure those teams were all that great for the last 6+ years. Some are competitive now.

Which of those players around him have played on great teams? What’s more telling is that on a point per game basis there are a slew of players that are really close to him and none of them were ever considered generational.

I’m pretty certain you can watch it on the ESPN app. It’s just a couple dollars for a month.

I can’t imagine why wearing a third-party jersey would matter. A fan of hockey should be able to wear anything they want.
