Never understood why it’s wrong for players to bet. As long as they don’t bet against their own team it shouldn’t be an issue. If a league thinks it’s an addiction they should treat it the same as alcohol or drugs and provide counseling.

How many professional athletes are in your iPhone contact list?

How many professional athletes are in Travis Kelce’s contact list?

If you were trying to fix games in another sport, tell me how you would do it. How would Josh Allen do it?

Either we have a bunch of lazy players who can not for the life of them comprehend simple instructions to keep the game simple and go to the net or we have a coaching staff who despite the mythology built up around their capability can not for the life of them get through to the players.

I am being to agree with @SDS in his assessment of #19. That kid really seems to bring nothing to each game.

he’s a puck hound that has some positive individual attributes, which none of them benefit his linemates.

Having a laptop dedicated to streaming to the TV is a great idea.  Have been using that for ESPN+ and AHL TV and the like for a couple of years now.  Seem to finally have the settings on the laptop right to have close to satellite quality pictures on the TV.  (The text on the laptop outside the video feeds is barely legibile, but the video feeds are very crisp now.)

I would think any number of streaming devices would work better. I watch everything through my Apple TV with no difficulty.

I have a close friend who spends a ton of money and doesn't really mind (I guess?)  He has a full cable package with internet, plus a few premium packages with cable, and his cable bill is a bit over $200 per month (with internet).  Him and his wife have most of the major streaming services also. I'm guessing his total for Cable and streaming is closing in on $300 per month.  I joked with him about it a couple months ago, and his response was....they want all the options and he doesn't mind the cost.

That was me up into a couple weeks ago. FiOS TV, Max and Internet was $272 a month. Plus add Netflix, Hulu/ESPN+/Disney, Peacock, Spotify, SiriusXM, and Audible.

We finally dropped FiOS TV and picked up DIRECTV STREAM instead. That saved $100 mostly in equipment rental and legacy TV fees.

It’s really a great option because it gives the most cable like experience along with your regional sports networks. I’m free to share my account with my daughter in college which is a huge bonus.

The other streaming services really lacked on regional sports coverage.

I agree.  I love the energy of the event with the teams there.  Given modern communications, you don’t need to have 30 people at each team’s table but jeep the event generally as is.

Yes, I think having the GM’s together at the draft site can foster easier trade discussions.

How so? Isn’t 99% of what they do on the phone?

PS Too bad for Mule.  Hopefully the injury bug at some point moves on.

Awesome. This saves me the trouble of posting a hypothetical to you.

10 minutes ago you wanted to bench Owen Power. Now you’re laughing at the seventh defenseman.

    Take your time. We’ll wait.

That's not a successful formula for this club. We have seen what transpired all too often. The fact that they actually won this game is the bonus in all of it. This was the type of heartbreaker they used to lose. You have to go with their strength which was their offense last season. Not sure where it is right now but they had better find it soon. You could smell that tying goal coming, and then it did.

Yeah. I didn’t smell anything but a victory the last couple minutes.

I mean they couldn’t even enter the zone for two minutes. I don’t know how you’re smelling a game tying  goal there.

It looked to me that the Sabres really only outplayed them for the first period. After that Tampa starting winning most of the puck battles and you could almost smell that tying goal coming. Once O.T started, it was all Buffalo. I'll take the win, but in all honesty, the Sabres have been disappointing so far in the first 3 games. I hope this win changes things. They will need last season's offensive output to get anywhere this season, and so far, it hasn't happened.

I thought the last couple of minutes was complete shut down hockey until the last 10 seconds.

I will continue to beat the dead horse that Power had no business being handed that contract.  His refusal to play any defense other than stick checking is not acceptable, and shame on DG and the other coaches for doing nothing about it. I’d sit his a$$ in the press box until he shows in practice that he will engage the opposition.

    That being said…good win!

The kid is not even old enough to drink.
