If anyone does anything tonight, please go find the video that Connor McDavid just scored. Utterly amazing.

I’m not sure he ever developed into the player fans wanted him to be when he was drafted in 2009, but the dude has put in 560 NHL games. That’s a respectable career.
-
Why should I believe that?

Sort of uncomfortable when AP says the Sabres put bandaid on top of bandaid on the team with Gionta sitting there. Lol

Knew a beer league hockey guy would was really good. We had 8 forwards instead of 9 that day (usually iced 6+4 or 9+4). We told him we were going with 3 sets of wings and two centers. His head almost exploded. lol

That’s what she said.

If?

Oh, I don’t go. I just know they change that response something like 5 to 10 years ago. It’s been a while.

I know someone who hasn’t been in church for a long time. Lol

Someone needs to take the phrase “Tage to the cage“ out back and shoot it.

Just come back to me baby. I promise I won’t do it again. Go pound sand Jack.

What number will he wear from his couch?
-
No. Just a coincidence.

I argued tooth and nail with many, many fans here who said Beane and McDermott should have both been fired immediately for the quarterback situation they had prior to drafting Allen. I argued they were clearing space so they could make future moves and I was told over and over it was unforgivable and incompetent to do that.

The time before the 2020 season and the time after the 2020 season are remarkably different. We can list the what ifs of last year and maybe all those fallen dominos changes what has transpired. When the season ended last year, given everything that transpired, I believe Adams was forced to rebuild, given the product on the ice, and the attitudes of the players when the season ended. He didn’t choose to rebuild in 2020, he chose to rebuild in 2021.
-
The team is the horse and Adams is the cart. No GM wants to rebuild, they all want to be handed a great team. He was handed a different team, burdened with years of failure, and their best players all wanted out. To say that Adams wanted a rebuild is kind of like saying the person who was on fire wanted to be doused in water.

Feel free to judge the other side of this ledger anytime you want. There are two people here and your only response has been to question the ability of one side. If you could just stop for a moment and tell me what a general manager should do when your star player says “I don’t wanna be here anymore“? Adams has made this painfully clear in his very judicious, polite way of speaking about the situation, that certain people, including Jack, made it known they did not want to be here. At any point are you going to hold Jack accountable for this? Does Jack own any of this? Or are we just collecting talent here?

From the press conference, what I’m getting is that most likely Jack let everyone know how dissatisfied he was and that was the impetus of Adams wanting to move him early on. After the season when they talked, Jack reaffirmed that mentally he wasn’t prepared to lead the charge anymore. So Adams followed through. So Adams followed through. This is entirely on Jack. How can Adams get up in the morning, look everyone in the face, state that he only wants a team of players who want to be here, and have that Boston dude sitting in the middle like a three horn purple headed alien with a C on his chest? either Adams eats his own dog food or he’s a hypocrite. He chose the former.

In light of the press conference, I think the refusal of salary retention is extremely interesting. Adams approached this as keeping his long-term options open. Retaining salary only hinders you if you become a team willing to go to the cap. If you read between the lines this fits good news for future salary expenditures.
