If you look at the last 3 games you see a team that is playing harder but is still finding ways to lose. Stupid penalties at in opportune times. Losing control of the puck leading to two of the three OT losses. Coughing up 2 3rd period leads. So until this team stops being stupid, they will remain on the outside looking in.

Novikov, Komarov, Kisakov, Poltapov, Sardarian or Neuchev, none are even on the radar. Even the two big Russian D, seem to be behind Metsa, Jones and Johnson on the depth chart. Soon theyβll be passed by Mtrka. Good thing Adams spent 2 2nds and 2 3rds on the Russian forwards.

PerreaultForever started following Γstlund loaned to Rochester
-
He has skill, but he's not what we need. If he stays healthy, Greenway should give us more. If I could trade Γstlund (plus whatever) for another Doan I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Just as an aside, I think the reason the Bruins signed him to the overpay was he demolished Trent Frederic the year before and Frederic wasn't exactly a pushover. That sort of thing got Cam Neely all excited.

GDT: Sabres @ Bruins, 7:00pm Oct. 30, 2025, π πΊ ESPN+/MSGBeliever replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club Dahlin took a stupid penalty early in the 1st period that resulted in a Boston PP goal. Dug a hole for the team.

GDT: Sabres @ Bruins, 7:00pm Oct. 30, 2025, π πΊ ESPN+/MSGBeliever replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club And Dahlin took a stupid penalty right at the start. No focus and discipline.

He's the one guy that if we traded and he turned into a stud, I wouldnt care. Plays so soft and lackadaisical (thats a big word for me). I don't care if hes moved.

That was the excuse used for why pucks kept bouncing wildly off one of the stanchions in the Sabres end. Presumably that's why the ice seemed bad too.

I'd trade him for a Will Smith CD. KIDDING... Kinda.

Did anyone else notice this? Lots of players losing edges and pucks bouncing wildly? Itβs not an excuse either. It affected both teams noticeably.

GDT: Sabres @ Bruins, 7:00pm Oct. 30, 2025, π πΊ ESPN+/MSGTaro T replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club On a certain level Ruff isn't the problem. BUT he accepted ALL the assistant coaches when he was brought in wtihout bringing in any of his own guys (with the minor exception of demoting Ellis and moving Appert from Amerks HC to key AC and PP coordinator; which is just as bad, if not actually worse) and then after having worked with all of them for a full year didn't punt ANY of them (not even a demotion) and brought the entire band back except for the S&C coach. Their coaching is bad. Though will give Wilford credit for having the PK playing very well when it gets good GTing behind it. Did NOT see even that coming. And the fact that Ruff hasn't forced any real moves in that department says he's part of the problem too.

GDT: Sabres @ Bruins, 7:00pm Oct. 30, 2025, π πΊ ESPN+/MSGHumanSlinky39 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club Agree here. There is a foundation here, but it needs more help and MUCH better coaching. Maybe a decent coaching staff can make Power into more than a baby giraffe on the ice. Maybe they can salvage Jack Quinn. Maybe they can elevate Kulich. This isn't a team in need of a tear down rebuild. It needs a competent GM to tweak the roster a bit and hire a coaching staff worth a damn.

GDT: Sabres @ Bruins, 7:00pm Oct. 30, 2025, π πΊ ESPN+/MSGjad1 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club I don't know what you call it, but Benson, Doan, Kesselring, and Krebs are RFAs next season. Tuch is a UFA. Keeping all these players probably requires moving other contracts (Greenway, Quinn, UPL, Byram/Power). Moving on from Tuch means trading a contributor before the trade deadline, probably for draft picks because the cap space will be needed for the RFAs. Roster decisions need to be made, whether they are considered a retool or rebuild.

GDT: Sabres @ Bruins, 7:00pm Oct. 30, 2025, π πΊ ESPN+/MSGHumanSlinky39 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club Kevyn Adams' draft picks in the first 3 rounds since named GM 2020 Jack Quinn - not looking good. Has showed occasional flashes of being a decent offensive player, but at this point looks like he'll top out as a average-below average middle 6 winger. Need more out of a top-10 pick if you're going to build mostly though the draft- Looking like a miss JJ Peterka - Developed into a pretty good offensive player but wanted out after 3 years. Netted Kesselrig who could be a solid addition and Doan who has been good so far - Hit 2021 Owen Power - Was pretty much the consensus #1 in a weak draft. But so far, it isn't looking good. Yes, defensemen take longer to develop, but he's now in his fourth full season and I struggle to identify one thing he's good at. Maybe he's a really late bloomer. Maybe he's a victim of lousy coaching. Maybe, maybe, maybe. Right jow it isn't looking good - Miss (though to be fair, nobody from that draft is anywhere near worthy of being your typical #1 overall) Isak Rosen - Has 1 point in 15 NHL games and hasn't looked like he belongs when he's played. Not looking good - Miss 4 second and third rounders have failed to reach the NHL 2022 Matthew Savoie - #9 overall, played 1 game in Buffalo then was traded for Ryan MacLeod. MacLeod was good last year, has been bad this year. He's probably best suited as a third line Centerman and penalty killer. Serviceable player, but a team relying so heavily on drafting needs to get more from a #9 pick - Miss Noah Γstlund - Hasn't scored a point in 12 NHL games. There's still time for him, but you'd hope a guy picked #16 three years ago woukdnat least be contributing something at this point - Miss Jiri Kulich - He shows flashes of being a good hockey player, but also disappears for long stretches. What they've got from him isn't bad for a late first - Hit Second and third round pick haven't reached the NHL. 2023 Zach Benson - I love watching him play. He brings it every shift and is developing into a pretty decent playmaker. He needs to develop a better shot and score more goals. Given he was thrown in the frying pan at 18, not much to complain about here - Hit 2 seconds and a third haven't reached the NHL. 2024 Konsta Helenius - too early to say here. Second and third haven't reached the NHL. 2025 not gonna go too much into this as it's way too early. Adam's has made 9 first round selections. None have developed into stars (yet). I'd say Benson and Kulich are his best picks. Quinn is teetering on bust territory. Power is nowhere near good enough. He traded a top-10 pick in Savoie for a third liner on a good team. Γstlund and Rosen have contributed nothing. The only second or third rounder who has reached the NHL is Peterka from back in 2020. That's horrible for a team whose whole philosophy has been to build its foundation from within. Good GMs find guys in the mid-late first and second/third rounds. He's found Kulich. That's it. He has failed. Fire Adams.

GDT: Sabres @ Bruins, 7:00pm Oct. 30, 2025, π πΊ ESPN+/MSGPerreaultForever replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club Well I guess you take some solace from coming back from being down but really, they let Boston play Boston's game and didn't press the center of the ice. Boston has so little talent they just kind of rope a dope and occasionally counter attack. Sabres needed to be more physical and drive to the middle. They didn't. They lost. I did find it highly ironic that Doan muscled through Jokiharju to create that tying goal. That was the kind of thing that has happened to the Sabres for years with guys muscling the likes of Jokiharju only now he's on the Bruins and Sabres did the muscling. I'm not impressed with Kesselring so far but don't want to judge too much too early. At this point though Doan seems the more important addition. He seems to be a welcome missing piece style wise. Greenway going knee on knee twice. Don't remember him being that dirty but I'd rather he used the body. Still, big man made an impact and got under the Bruins skin. Zadorov chirps more than Shorsey I think. He does amuse me. They are better, but it's not good enough. They need to go get another Doan. Whatever it takes.

Dahlin, Tage Tuch possibly the return will likely be in picks and prospects because of nmc's and the suffering moves into the 9th ring of hell... then Pegula makes his internal moves Adams to POHO Keko to GM Appert to HC and we rebuild with the same incompetent morons and horrific coaching... jmo

GDT: Sabres @ Bruins, 7:00pm Oct. 30, 2025, π πΊ ESPN+/MSGTaro T replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club Yes, but at least they picked up 3 points in these 3 losses. Doing that several more times 3 years ago would've easily gotten them in the playoffs and could've had them in contention the last couple. But now they need to stack some W's.
