  1. Past hour
  2. Hell no.
  3. I still like the potential of McQueen. He could end up being the 3rd best player in this draft (if he can stay healthy)
  4. Forsberg, with a high bid on AAV (cause taxes and tree types) but low term. Give him a legit chance to capture a 1a role and spin it into a long term deal in summer of 2026/27. Don’t use trade capital on a Demko or others this year. Use Bo + prospects + Draft picks to solidify two RD/stay at home types. Then see results of a 1a/1b tandem can do. We need at least one season with a respectable top 4 group. Question is how much does the offer have to be over others to convince a UFA to sign with Buffalo? If he was $2.75M in OTT would $4M do it?
  5. This is where Jarmo would come in. Adams is so obsessed with Levi being the answer that he can’t see any other option. Hopefully Jarmo can shake it up a bit in that front office. Ive always liked Vladar but he’s never taken that step I thought he would.
  6. Trade the pick, Martin, Bear or McQueen are all decent outcomes for me.
  7. I’m not following this thread. Do people want Torts back as associate coach or as part of the front office or something?
  8. If Edmonton wins with Skinner and Kane gotta wonder. I'm not upset if Samson wins a 2nd cuz he was good when he was here but KA messed that trade up, said it then and stand by it now.
  9. I brought up Vladar earlier as his GAA and save percentage numbers been solid minus 2023-2024. To me he's as good as can find as a 1B you can find. I keep UPL to pair with him and eventually Levi.
  10. Today
  11. Jake Allen maybe? Actually Anton Forsberg is an option, Our new Sr advisor knows him
  12. Torts got fired for some altercation with York. Not interested.
  13. Yes, keep Levi in Rochester unless injury.
  14. Here is the UFA market. Not sure there are answers there.
  15. I'm not even sure that UPL will be back? I wouldn't be surprised if he was included in a deal to get a veteran goalie.
  16. Not for me. The past is the past. As a coach I would be looking for something else. If you believe that he would be a prime candidate for another team, then that's fine. I don't see him back behind the bench again.
  17. lllllllllll I agree with you that It's not the same situation as it was with Eichel and Reinhart who are instrumental players on their respective teams. But Skinner's former teammates do have to have some feelings that it takes being on another team to make the playoffs and vie for the cup. I'm sure many of this Sabre buddies are saying to themselves: I wonder how it feels because I haven't come close to having that experience where I am?
  18. You don’t think seven years at Tampa, six years at Columbus, three years at Ohilly is durable? What is then?
  19. “Career suicide” is a strong term. I think this is similar to the Ruff hire. Kekalainen, like Ruff, I think is well respected in the hockey community, but not necessarily highly regarded for his recent work. If things get worse here rather than better, it certainly isn’t going to help Kekalainan get a new GM job (well, maybe in Buffalo). It’s also similar to the Ruff hire in that, like last off-season with Ruff, you can expect that every perceived “good” move made by the Sabres this summer will be touted as having “Kekalainan’s influence all over it”. That is, as with Ruff, until those moves don’t work, in which case it will be all Adams’s fault and Kekalainan will get the “how could he have known it was this bad” pass.
  20. It would be interesting to know what the terms of agreement, even if only verbal, were with Keka and KA and with Keka and the owner.
  21. I think they need to do something new in net. I would have loved to sign Freddy Andersen but Carolina reupped him. I would role the dice on Demko for a year or see if Gibson is still available (not sure with Quenville there now). But UPL-Levi or UPL Reimer like backup is a non starter for me.
  22. I wasn't referring to Keenan although his style of coaching is beyond being outdated for this era of hockey. If Torts is so durable then why is it that wherever he goes he ends up being asked to leave. In my view, his approach to the game is passe No thank you. Looking to the past for solutions is not the way to go.
  23. Probably. My post was mostly a dig at Kevyn Adams, as I believe he couldn’t draft Mario Lemieux if he had the ten first picks in the 1984 entry draft.
  24. You must be referring to Mike Keaanan. Torts is quite durable, despite his somewhat dated? approach to coaching.
  25. Imagine how different NHL drafts would be if the players were 20yr olds.
  26. We all agree they need an experienced #1 NHL goalie right? That you can't run upl/ Levi and expect any hope of playoffs?
