In a rebuilding year in their last season at the Aud, the Sabres win their fourth straight game behind Dominik Hasek's 31-save, 6-0 shutout of the Ottawa Senators at Memorial Auditorium.

The Sabres run their winless streak to 12 games with an overtime loss at New Jersey. The 2002-03 season is the worst of times. And the best of times - Tom Golisano does buy the team!

Here is the roster of that team. You can see the makings of what we have now on it.

wow, that roster is a blast from the past... that's the year that saw the complete end of the old buffalo sabres... guys such as zhitnik, barnes, ray, brown, etc. and the beginning of the greatness we have now... guys such as briere, gaustad, hecht, etc.

It takes a real youngster to call that lineup the "old time" Sabres. Then again not many posters here remember watching Guy Trottier and Gilles Villemure play for Buffalo!
