frisky
Anyone know why the Sabres have decided not to keep Don Luce after 20 years? My guess is that they need a fall guy for the logo design and they will blame it on him :P
Wild Jay
I drank a few beers with his daughter at a party a few years back, she was really cool (and cute). But as far as Don himself goes, perhaps the Sabres know of someone else in the league that has become available that they have their eye on. PTS
Terry Martin (Director of Pro Scouting) has also decided to leave the team. He took a position with Colorado. Not sure if that has any effect on not renewing Don Luce (Direct of Player Development).

LabattBlue
It's all the same! It is?? I would think that Martin was responsible for rating players currently in the NHL or minors, Bennings was responsible for evaluating the draft eligible players and Luce...I'm not really sure.
BetweenThePipes00
Well by definitition i would think Luce was responsible for developing the guys that benning drafted .... but I'm sure the lines bllur ...
IKnowPhysics
As long as Benning's still around, we're good. Each of those people will go and scout any level occaisionally, but our amatuer scouting has been the bizomb over the last 10 years. However, many of those players (Kotalik, Cambell, Janik, etc) have taken too long to develop into usable talent, which is the player development department. We'll hire a replacement for Luce before the season starts.

Kotalik signed with the team in 2001 and put up outstanding rookie NHL numbers in 2002-2003 and he developed into usable talen too slowly? :o
buftex
I have to say, changes in the personel department worry more than any of the player moves so far.
