Why can't McLeod be a 2c on a playoff team? What's your reasoning other than "he's a 3c because that's what he was in Edmonton"

Which goes back to what I am saying...he got 1c ice time toward the end of the year, but for the whole year got 2c ice time.

If you want to use traditional 'labels' and slot him in on a '3rd line', then he is getting less ice time, a LOT less than he got in the 2nd half of last year.  You want to give him 16-17 minutes per game (which is still less than he got the 2nd half of last year), that is not 3rd line ice time.

I didn’t follow savoie’s AHL year last year but it’s a trade that prob can work out for both teams. I still think if EDM would have kept McLeod they would have had a good chance to win the cup than what. No reason for them to trade him and he would have given them a ton more than skinner did

The reason to trade him was in line with their other moves last off-season.  They somehow came to the conclusion that their issue against FLA 2 seasons ago was that they didn't have enough offense to beat them.  They cut loose guys that were responsible 2 way players and brought in guys like Skinner that, um, aren't.

Swamp Cats had to be loving the roster moves the Eulers made last year.
