Home vs. Road performance

Reading Puck Daddy this afternoon, I found this to be interesting - a look at the NHL's top scorers on the road (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Who-are-the-NHL-8217-s-best-road-scorers-?urn=nhl-wp20385).

Considering the beating the Sabres have been taking on home ice, I was surprised to find Vanek and Pominville among the league leaders in HOME scoring.

Overall scoring:

Pominville - 35 pts in 32 games (13th overall)

Vanek - 34 pts in 32 games (14th overall)

Home scoring:

Pominville - 25 pts in 20 gms (2nd overall)

Vanek - 23 pts in 20 gms (4th overall)

They're still the top two Sabres in terms of production on the road, but those are impressive home numbers for a team that has seemed so anemic at FNC.

Hmmm. Well we've certainly played more home games than any other team. We've had 20; COL and BOS 19 each, no one else more than 18. But that doesn't really explain it.

The complete road points stats that Chilean is referring to:

Van and Pom would still be up there if it was points/game rather than just points.
