This Day in Sabres History :: March 19

Recommended Posts

March 19, 1981

Both Gil Perreault and Andre Savard net hat tricks as the Sabres bomb the Maple Leafs 14-4 at the Aud. For the record, Michel "Bunny" Larocque and Jiri Crha were in goal for the Leafs on that unforgettable night when the Sabres scored nine goals in the second period! Two nights later, in a rematch at Maple Leafs Gardens and with Larocque back in goal, the Sabres routed the Leafs again, 6-2.

March 19, 1996

The Sabres trade defenseman Charlie Huddy and a seventh-round draft choice to St. Louis for Denis Hamel.

I still remember sitting in the kitchen listening to the game on the radio and running into the family room seemingly every 2 mnutes to say "they scored AGAIN".
