    • 4: Would like to keep; would trade only for a great return (if under contract) or would pay a premium to re-sign (if FA).

    • 3: Don't care if he stays or goes; would make a fair trade (if under contract) or pay somewhat above current salary to re-sign (if FA).

    • 2: Don't want him on the team, really; would trade for a somewhat lesser return (if under contract) or sign at current or lower salary (if FA).

vanek must stay for the price they pay to make sure he stay in buffalo but it would have been nice if buffalo didn't match edmonton offer and get 4 first round pick cause even with vanek oilers wouldnt be a great team so they would probably pick beetween 1 and 6 for 4 years

Poor Thomas. Has to watch all these other teams go and get top-talent centermen to complement their sniper wingers, while we make due with douchebags like Derek Roy and lollygaggers like Connolly. If we were to trade Roy, Connolly, AND Stafford for Brad Richards, not only would Vanek double his production, but so would Pominville, and the team as a whole would improve drastically.

 

But if Darcy has no plans to do something like that for Vanek, let him go somewhere where his career won't end up in the crapper.
