Eleven
I disagree on the casino--that's money going away from local merchants (except for one, the casino), and not to them. I also think the impact seems overstated in the article.
PASabreFan
Our society always exaggerates the impact of sports, especially the economic impact. Did Crossroads Arena revitalize that part of downtown Buffalo?

I don't want to get into a casino debate, I am just stating that it would be nice if there were some things to do within walking distance of the arena. Eleven
Our society always exaggerates the impact of sports, especially the economic impact. Did Crossroads Arena revitalize that part of downtown Buffalo? Sort of. There are some new restaurants and some luxury apartments. But I don't know how much it has to do with the Arena, especially since it was built right next to the Aud, anyway.
