millbank
Free To Be A Dreamer :bag: the song is called Free to Be and just rocks with a message so positive, so patriotic that it's ideal to play during the pre-game skate. It captures who we are as a collection of free people who cannot only dream but have freedom and opportunity to achieve. It's very Canadian. Written and performed by Alan Frew of Glass Tiger fame, the song was composed for the Maple Leafs as an anthem. Grammy nominated and Juno-winning Frew has always been a great songwriter, having performed such hits as My Town, Diamond Sun and Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone. Words: FREE TO BE (THE LEAFS' SONG) VERSE 1 From the Isle of Vancouver To the Labrador Sea One nation, glorious and free Where I'm free to be me. VERSE 2 From the song of the Prairies To the call of the pond Heroes of times come and gone Where the memories go on and on and on Oh! Oh! Oh! This is Canada's song Oh! Oh! Oh! Where my heart belongs VERSE 3 Free to be a dreamer Free to be who you are Free to believe in your star Free to go far Oh! Oh! Oh! That's Canada's dream (Go Leafs Go) Oh! Oh! Oh! This is Canada's team (Go Leafs Go) BRIDGE TAG Free to be a dreamer Free to be who you are
SteamRoller72
Are you kidding me? I don't give 2 fat shits about some patriotic Canadian Maple Laughs song. Toronto is the media capital of Canada and this is the best they can do? I thought California had a lot of pot smoking hippies....I guess you guys win, eh? SteamRoller72
:D I'm just busting your chops a bit. The song is awful though. :death: haha... Donald Sutherland is pretty young in that video. Anything that pay homage to the WWII vets is OK by me...the greatest generation!
millbank
I understood you were. One does not post a Leaf comment or post and not expect to be ragged on.. was meant in good humor. :) I'm just busting your chops a bit. The song is awful though. :death: haha... MattPie
How does that song have anything to do with the Leafs? Leafs fans realize that not everyone from Vancouver Island to the Labrador Sea love the Leafs, right? :)
Eleven
I was looking for something by the Carpenters. Like "Rainy Days and Game Days Always Get Me Down," or some such.
