However, he did say Lindy was going to give Max another shot, didn't say when, so it may be an interesting night for the announcers pertaining to lineups. He came down to $2.5 million per in negotiations with Toronto, but they weren't willing to go higher than $2 million. If he plays well here, it would be nice to have a real option (i.e., not Hecht) for scoring line center next year, but it will depend on other contracts (Sekera and Stafford), who gets traded away and the Sabres' internal budget.
