I am not a big Timmy fan by any means, but before everyone jumps all over Darcy for signing him think about a few things that could come out of this and the options that Darcy really had with him. Up until we dealt Brian last year every player worth their salt was let go and nothing was brought back in return..Our talent level is so far depleted that we went from a Stanley Cup contender to not even making the playoffs 2 years in a row..He wasnt gonna get anything near what Tim is worth on the trade market with 6 months left on his contract..He had no choice but to sign him..Now you can deal him and get something if they really want to move him..He is signed for 2 years and is playing pretty well as of now..If they trade him there is really only one center on this team worthy of being called a top 3 line center and thats Roy...They put themselves in a bind with no centers and they did the right thing by signing him IMO.

Well its 2:12 and the sabres have 50 minutes to make them better for a playoff push. Unless Regier has something up his sleve,"this team is what ya se is what ya get" for the remainder of the season.

 

I suppose management wants to see how the "core" handles adversity down the strech. How having Vanek back might give them a spark to get in the hunt. I quess we gotta be "patient" as Regier likes to say.

 

Can we just fast forward to the 09/10 season?

Why is anyone excited about overpaying for Tim Connolly? In Tim Connolly's Buffalo career, what has he accomplished? Not really much of anything. Darcy Regier is delusional and inept if he tries to spin this overpaid contract as a "great day for the Sabres organization" and "better than a trade". Before today the Sabres were NOT good enough to make the playoffs or if they did squeak in go far in the playoffs. The numerous problems the team has were not addressed and we are stuck with the usual. It is inexcusable that Kotalik, Max, and Tallinder and still Sabres. I find it hard to believe that there wasn't some team out there willing to give us something for these guys.

Guerin was had for a 3rd round pick if the pens win the cup..How much more are those players worth????Forget it..Our players are worth SQUAT..The ones that were worth anything have already left the building years ago..LOL

It's a fifth if they miss the playoffs, a fourth if they make it and a third if they win a playoff round. One TSN reported joked that if they win the cup, it becomes Malkin, but there wasn't really an upgrade for that condition.
