First off, DiPietro isn't a starting NHL goaltender- Dubielewicz should start for them and that stupid contract prevents it from happening. Second, their offense is putrid; they miss Smyth don't they?? Without goal scorers, you are pretty much dead and they learned that lesson this year. His greatest asset is often his skating and stick work. His Defenders line up across the blueline and force a dump in and he clears it out before the oncoming forwards can get to it. In some ways it really is remarkable how good he is at it. But it just takes one mistake to make him look foolish.
