Ummm...where are the 2 players coming from?

Anyone have a clue what the Sabres are going to do? I really don't want to see any more call ups. I hope Darcy just sends out a message to the rest of the league, "have picks, will trade." I know the salary cap contraints are tight but Darcy's a good GM, he can find a way.

Bob D wants Dracy to break the rules to get more talent in here. Brilliant! What a douche bag.

Exactly! Anybody who wants to risk our starters being held out of the first round for suspicion of foul play can think what they want. I myself am glad the man in charge is smarter than that.

When it's said and done New Jersey did the same thing...I'll Reserve judgement until Max is out 8 weeks min. then see. Rules are as they are. If he is out 8 weeks then he should have been put on IR and save the salary. All you guys are crying for new players yet we don't have $$$. According to the NHL/NHLPA agreement, it's in the rules to "bank" max's money if he is deemed out for 8 weeks min. I don't think he's breaking rules. He should have not said a damn word and let the doctors and Max alone make the decision. Remember it's 6 weeks minimum. Who knows if it will be longer. Rule breaking no, it's a option that is available to those who use it wisely.

So because NJ might be doing it we should do it? That is some great logic!!

I'm thankful Darcy isn't willing to tarnish the hard work these guys have put in this season. So Max could be out 8 weeks insead of 6 so we should bend the rules so everybody can cry foul and claim our cup run was bought and bullsh-t.

Any way we can get Georges Laraque in here before tomorrows game? Biron, and a few picks to Phoenix for Cujo, Adams and Laraque. I can dream, can't I?

I'm also wondering where we're going to get 2 more players. We have only 3 more forwards under contract in Rochester and only 8 players total including two goalies.

As it is we are or soon will be in breach of contact with the Amerks, as we aren't suppose to go more than 2 games with less than 10 players down there.

This is the kind of thing that happens when a club goes on the cheap in regards to stocking a farm team. Some teams have a full AHL affiliate and an ECHL or UHL affilate as well. Even the Panthers at least have an ECHL team to draw up from if needed. We have half a farm team and that's it.

but our half a farm team can kick your honor child' ass.

I just thought that would make a great bumper sticker.

No offense but even if we had a full AHL farm team and an ECHL farm team the result would be the same: A handful of reasonably talented NHL subs and then a huge drop-off. Does it really matter if the drop-offs are guys who have putzed around for one of our affiliates the entire season or guys who were signed three hours before game time?

The Sabres have the same, if not more (see last nights game, for example) quality depth in their farm system as every other team. After that it's a huge drop-off no matter how you slice it.

Why is Peters going to miss Saturdays game? No suspensions have been handed out and I don't think they will.

But knowing Buffalos luck, they will sloap the Sens on the wrist and warn Emery and Neil, and Suspend Peters for being in fights, Mair for taking a swing at Spezza, Biron for fighting, and Ruff for putting his 4th line out.

That would work if there was cap space, but thats the problem Darcy created this year, since they are so close to the cap, they have to deal player for player to gain salary cap space.

Would you really want to risk the league deciding to crack down on us as an example and lose Max for the playoffs?

I think now 7 players out with injuries 2 of which could be long term (>6 weeks) I don't think we would have anything to hide.

LINKY

I just listened to the new interview on WGR. Darcy actually had some intersting things to say about it before the game yesterday. Getting some space freed up for Max is not out of the question, but they are treading on dangerous ground.

I think Peters is going to ge the hook. He was the third man in ona goalie fight not to mention he raked whatever puss Senator that was across the face and cross-checked him several times.

As far as cap space goes...ehham...Biron. He really showed what tpye of character he has last night but what else can Darcy do.

I agree that our farm team prospects are of high quality and I was very proud of how they handled themselves. I guess I'm just a little worried that something like this might be the last straw from the Amerks point of view in severing ties with the Sabres. Last year their was some tension over Buffalo not wanting to sign any vets to play in Rochester. Now with the depth dwindling from Rochester, they've fallen apart.

The Sabres are very lucky to have a farm team so close by, it gives us a competitive advantage (especially for home stands) that most other teams do not have. I guess this is all nit picking, but that's what message boards are for. In the end though I'm a Buffalo Sabres fan, not an Amerks fan, just trying to show other perspectives on the situation we're in at the moment.

He pulled Heatley down last night, Mair was cross checking Spezza to get him to fight.

I know what you mean about Biron. Great guy, team player, good heart, but he is going to be nothing more then a backup here. If he is content with that, I'd love to see him stay, but right now its a luxury keeping him because his money could go to help the team out right now instead. Darcy doesn't have many other option, not many GM's are going to deal for an injured player, and dealing picks and prospects won't clear up cap space. Right now Regier is holding out hope guys like Max, and Timmy come back by the playoffs and are 100%

It will be interesting to see how the NHL veiws this. Emery and Biron were completely done fighting and were separated. Peters comes across the ice nonchalantly towards Emery. I don't think he wanted to, but Emery was every bit as willing to fight Peters. I thought third man only came into play when two players are already engaged with each other and someone jumps in. If the refs did their job correctly, Peters would have and should have been escorted all the way to the box so that this never would have happened in the first place. He was involved in two separate altercations and only really got into 1 fight. It should be interesting.
