Wow, was Kane shot out of a cannon? What a burst! Nice shot, too bad it didn't go in.

Larsson is being very tough to play against tonight. I like it.
-
Once again, everything but the goal. :-\

I like that the Sabres are taking time and space away from the Avs. The power play was a direct result of that.

Lehner needs some work on rebound control.
Ah, that's better.

Fair enough. Lindros did the same kind of thing Drouin is kind of doing and look what happened to his career. If the same positive results would happen to Drouin when he became a Sabre, I certainly would not be mad. Is the gamble worth it? Depends on all of the parts that it'll take to take said gamble, of course.
But the trade sent the Cup the other way, to the Nordiques/Avs.

Its 4am in modo land do you know where yours children are?
ITS ON!!!
Nice.

I like Pysyk too, but lets face it, we've set the bar awfully low these past few seasons for what we consider quality defensemen. He has good agility, but like most of the defensemen on this roster, he's slow and won't win many puck races back into the zone.
IMO Ennis, Pysyk and (I'm guessing) a 3rd... isn't enough to land Drouin if I'm Stevie Y.
I think he's arguably our best defensive defenseman.
The Avs are motivated.

On the Coyotes forum, it's pretty much accepted that the Yotes needed to dump an NHL contract, any contract, to make the trade work, so the Habs took on the cheapest one they could get- Scott's.

Well, that certainly cheers me up
My son had all 4 out at once and didn't even need pain meds afterwards, even though 3 were impacted.

The All Star game isn't about representing hockey and all of its skills. It isn't about representing "the best" of the game either. Hell, it isn't even about representing the top players on each team. It is about one thing, and one thing only, showcasing the players they can most effectively market.
It's about putting Honda's sponsorship of the NHL on display by giving an unneeded car to the MVP.

Heheh.

Interesting. I'm glad you Wikipediaed that for me.

I had no idea 'NHL' was a verb.
There is much you have yet to learn.

If the Sabres had their act together all year like they have since Christmas, they'd be on a playoff pace. And the first part of this season was a throw-away while DD instilled his system and the young guys learned how to NHL. I think it's reasonable to assume that every single roster spot will be the same or better (by players improving and moving marginal players off the team to be replaced by better ones), so, they're close this year but no cigar. Next year..... cigar.

Hey lookie here, Weber made the list of top 20 available D men.

Yep. And The Big Johnson made the goalies list.

I predict John Scott will win the fastest skater competition.

You drive a guy to drink.
Thanks.

Stop badgering the witness. Geez.

I can't imagine Jagr would have wanted to come here at the beginning of last season. We were full on tank by then.
I know, and coulda-woulda-shoulda is the story of Buffalo sports anyway, innit?
-
And if he's happy where he's at, he's not really available is he?
Short of giving him a Moulson-esqe deal, he wasn't coming to Buffalo (& maybe not even then).
I'm saying that when Florida signed him at the beginning of last season, I wanted the Sabres to do it instead. The opportunity is gone now.
-
Which of those guys were available post "that which shall not be mentioned?"
Jagr. And yes, we should have signed him. I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that GMTM tried.

If the Sabres keep the pressure on it'll get the Avs on their heels.
