Sabres are just a farm team. They leave to succeed.

When you think about it, you can assemble a pretty good and balanced team if you put together some of the ex-Sabres still playing in the league.  Guys with talent or toughness, etc.  Just a few of those names include:  Eichel, Reinhart, O'Reilly, Ulmark, Montour, Mittelstadt, Deslauriers, Foligno, Kane, Compher, McNabb, Hall, Meyers, Zadorov, Risto, etc.

I realize some of these guys left as UFA's and others were never going to succeed here (even if they stayed).

Thompson has been a gym rat since he got here.  His off ice workouts are well known.  The others in your list need to get stronger, especially Power and Quinn.  Power probably is strong but not anywhere near his potential.

His (TNT) workouts may focus on fitness, but IMHO not enough on building strength and mass.  I've seen too many photo's of him in street cloths heading to the rink...he's still too thin!  Remember Risto's off-season workouts?   That's more what the guys need.  Some of these Sabres still look like bean poles since 2022....

I’m a big Benson fan and still think he’s a prospect, despite playing in the NHL. He’s only 18 and has shown flashes of brilliance this year. Compared to anyone else, he’s going to be the prospect that takes the next big step. Dude has to put in a great offseason though. Needs to get bigger and stronger

Can somebody also please tell this to:  Power, Cozens, Thompson, Quinn, etc.  I seriously question if this team has a strength and conditioning coach.  They all look like they're trying to become swimmers vs. hockey players.

You don’t really “age out”. Edmonton is the 2nd oldest team in the league. Are they are the verge of “aging out”?

They are getting better and more well rounded

“Youngest team in the league” is, in fact, a sales job

I also think it is an EXCUSE used by the Sabres for failed seasons

  5. It's for their own good.  Shield them from the cluster-f*ck that we know as the Buffalo Sabres.  Next season, GMKA and HCDG will waste the entire pre-season looking at the kids (instead of getting the full team ready to play) leading to a slow start again for the Sabres, causing them to miss the playoffs for a 14th season.

The disappointment comes from finishing 31st, 24th, 20th, and currently 25th during Adams tenure. Expectations could not be lower. They are unjustly low, to the fans. There is absolutely no rule you need to roster the youngest teams in hockey in year 4 of your plan. That’s a crazy plan. How do we know? Because it hasn’t delivered league results in a league-relative reasonable time frame

Darcy Regier now looks like a loose-cannon, shoot-from-the-hip gunslinger vs. GMKA.  Once upon a time I thought Darcy was too slow and conservative, but fast forward to today, I'd welcome him back over GMKA.  I remember the 2013 draft where Darcy was talking to the head of scouting (Kevin Devine?) and agreed that he wanted the Sabres to be harder to play against.....and so they drafted Risto and Zadorov.
