Until adams literally proves me wrong, I don't for a second believe they'll bring in a top 6 player.
Probably right, but my only hope otherwise is that GMKA is feeling the heat rising in the kitchen....meaning he cannot gamble his job by standing pat.

Rich Bowness retiring at Winnipeg. Could Scotty Arniel get a HC job there?!?! I would not mind seeing him otherwise come back to Buffalo to join Lindy.

Taveres to Buffalo for Levi and Clifton????
How about for Tokarski and Clague?
I'd trade Skinner for Marner...but the Leafs certainly would not do that.

High end regular season forwards. No grit or extra gear when it matters.
IDK - they've added some grit, sandpaper and toughness for sure. IMHO - I think their greatest weakness is in goal.

I think (hope) he will have the team READY to start the season, unlike Granato. He will use training camp to prepare the team to have a good start, instead of Granato using it to look at prospects.

Pegula and GMKA will bring back Zemgus and re-sign Krebs.....both of which I hope does NOT happen.

I honestly do think Adams did interview at least a few candidates
Or....he tried to interview some and they all said "Thanks, but no thanks"

Respectfully, I disagree. They'll be in the playoffs next year with Lindy behind the bench, and hear me out LG. They've never experienced a coach with his style yet, was he the best choice? No, I concur with you that it was a knee jerk reaction to both the "soft" label and the brand destruction that has occurred. Adams has to address the roster, that will be meaningful assets moving out to bring in that which could propel the team to competitive contention. But Lindy isn't a horrible choice, given the bar is low and so are the revenue generating coffers. Is it a shi tty deal for us that want a cup? Half and half, since nothing is guaranteed, but Pegula knows he has to right the ship. Just my view, my honest view, is all.
Respectfully, the coaching change "might" enable this team to sneak into the playoffs as they are built now, but no coach will achieve a championship level of success in the playoffs with this roster. We lack key types of players. Watching other teams brutalize each other should be a signal to GMKA that he needs high energy guys who will hit, finish checks and battle like nobody currently on the Sabres right now.

Unless the roster is improved, the coach won't matter much.
Some "addition by subtraction" needed to achieve this IMHO.

I need to see how Ruff set up his staffs after he left Buffalo. In Buffalo, whether it was his choice or bc of budgets, he never had assistants with head coaching experience at the pro level.
I am going to barf if he fills his staff with inexperienced former Sabres.
I'd also like to know what if any assurances he got re: TP's commitment and involvement.
Finally Lindy you might as well tell us if you got fired or quit in 2013.
I'm going to barf if he fills his staff with anybody named Ellis or Wilford.

Maybe this means Darcy Regier will be coming back as GM too <grin>.
I wouldn't mind seeing Lindy lure Scotty Arniel to join him behind the bench.

Sorry to hear this, hope you have multiple new options to pursue. Good luck!!!
I worked my entire career for "corporate America"....long believed it was the best option for my family and I. At the twilight of my career, I really grew to hate how corporations are run....every decision they make is for the "mega" shareholders, not the employees. Nothing matters except short-term profitability. Employees do not matter anymore, despite the false lip service they spew.

It proves Donny's system was garbage to me. I'd like to see the Sabres change from zone to man-to-man....IMHO it is an easier defensive system to play.

The more I listen to players reacting to a coach being fired, the more it sounds the same (i.e. theme of accountability, etc.). This one was kind of interesting when Berube was fired....I don't put too much emphasis on this (one way or another).

That kid looks like he needs to hit the gym. Maybe its an unflattering picture, but he sure as hell doesn’t look like a professional athlete there.
GMKA needs to deliver a strong message that he needs to bulk up this off-season. He is still too thin to be effective where the team needs him to be.

I challenge anyone to watch the locker room clear out videos/interviews and tell me Tuch shouldn't be the captain. Compare him to Dahlin and decide for yourself.
As for Greenway, somebody test that dude for THC content or something. Talk about over mellow detachment. Wow.
Also noteworthy are Tuch's comments on Ruff and Gallant.
You want "accountability"?!?! Tuch is the one who would be best at delivering that message to his teammates, both on and off the ice. I felt he was the most natural leader of any of the players I've seen on this team.

Was hoping he would show something in the final quarter of the season....but he failed to impress. The only way I'd consider keeping him is if he agrees to bridge deal at $1.5 million AAV.
-
Somebody else that might be worth a look is Todd McLellan. He said "no thanks" before, so maybe not a possibility, but he's out there.

We’re actually a pretty big team. The emotional part is where coaching comes in to change
Maybe on paper, but as it's been stated many, many times....they play small. The only exception is maybe Benson (playing bigger than his punching weight) and maybe Clifton (from time to time)....and Dahlin sometimes as well.

Who said he talked with the Sabres?
Not saying he has yet....assuming he and KA connect once the Canes season is done.

Feels like another Babcock scenario. Rod uses a Sabres offer for leverage with the Canes....and a bigger paycheck.

I hope somebody asks him why they didn't fire Matty, Marty, etc as assistants

Hopefully. What if they hire Appert? Are they still gone?
This is the Sabres we are talking about.
If there is even a chance of this happening, then I am hoping the Amerks get thumped badly in the playoffs...even embarassed. I don't want this team having anything to do with any of its remaining staff....in Buff or Rochester.

The Sabres should trade the 11th overall pick in the 2024 draft

One of my ideal scenarios would be to trade the 11th overall plus a prospect (or two) for Lawson Crouse.
