I feel like we're the "Goodwill Store" of the NHL. All we can stockpile are second-hand used and discarded players from other teams, who in turn want to buy our assets at bargain prices.

It was kind of like the Sabres tonight. It started strong, but quickly fizzled out.

Yep....I find it interesting that some teams and players have a regular season speed and then another higher intensity gear for the playoffs. The Sabres (on the other hand) are perpetually stuck in "pre-season" mode.

I have to admit I had a real crush on Susan Banks when she first joined WKBW.

Don Postle's wasn't bad either. I remember seeing Irv a couple times in public....He was even shorter and stockier in person than on camera!

Because they were too busy trying to build a stockpile of great centers....oh wait, sorry no.... they were too involved finding strong power forwards...hmmm, no make that creating a pool of big physical defenders....eh....no, maybe ....oh forget it!!! I can't tell you what they've succeeded building except a revolving door of bottom six forwards, soft defenders and sub-par goaltending.

On my ideal hockey team, NOBODY would be a candidate for the Lady Byng. I want players who would be embarrassed to even be nominated

I might throw in Sabretooth as being NHL worthy though!

SMH - why does Buffalo continue to not plant a body directly in front of the goal on the PP? It's too easy to otherwise pressure the Sabres when the 4 defenders have freedom to play aggressive and take up space.

I am not a "fashionista", but I'm not digging Duffer's tie. From a distance, it looks like someone did a 3-stooges prank and cut his tie off below the knot.

Maybe Pegula is cost cutting again. Who needs to have separate HC and assistant coaches. Just roll them with the GM into one person that you trust and simplify!

It's "Sweet 16" time, meaning the NCAA tourney is down to 16 and our Buffalo Sabres' are going for 16 as well (winless)! Expecting to see our blue and gold shooting "bricks" tonight.

IMHO - we need to keep Borgen. We need two more stay-at-home types, even if it means losing Joki (ideally trade bait). We need big mean guys who can defend and keep the crease clear for our goalies. JBOT built a defense corp consisting of too many like-minded players who are soft and too easy to play against.

I think it's a good move by the coaching staff to get him right back out there like they did. Don't let the kid sulk over his occasional mistake, but get right him back out there!

Maybe under Granato, the Sabres will learn how to score garbage goals by sending bodies to the front of the net.

Perhaps GMKA can engineer a trade with Colorado to get JJ back into a Sabre's uniform. Should only cost us a 3rd pick to get him back 😬
