GMKA needs to admit he only has one line generating offense and maybe one D pairing that can actually defend. He needs to do his job and not assume the fans will tolerate another season ending collapse before the holidays.

The current situation kind of reminds me of 2016, maybe 2017. We were short on D-men and had to trade for Scandella from Minny. There may be differences vs. that previous situation, but your draft info earlier pretty well sums up the lack of a robust pipeline.

Agree, they definitely need Mule back but I'd suggest they need more still. Joki is a soft 3rd pair guy to me and I'd like so see another physical crease clearing guy added via trade.

Cozens seems snakebit this game....that was maybe his 3rd or 4th scoring opportunity already....well maybe sooner vs. later.

Too many passes, not enough shots

Sabres are trying to score pretty goals while the Hawks brought their lunch buckets.

Our defense is too timid and/or small to take out opposing players in the crease. That's two chicago goals scored in the crease because our D cannot neutralize their forwards.

Whether it is Bear or any other player not already in the organization, I think GMKA needs to improve the D-man corp. with proven NHL talent. Getting Boosh was a good step, but IMHO we seriously lack RHD depth in our organization and I don't want to see the org wait another 2 or 3 years to draft and develop when the need is present day. Joki on my roster is a 3rd pair guy and Fitz is at best a "tweener" between the AHL and NHL.

Where have you seen this? All I know is last year he played 82 games and was a +15. Not bad IMHO. What if his role is a stay at home guy? Salary isn't a concern this season and he is a UFA after the 2023/24 season.
