Confirmed: In 2019, McDermott gave a speech to the team where he cited the 9/11 terrorists as paragons of coordinated teamwork. Incredible. More importantly, McDermott copping to this specific story lends credence to the rest of the reporting in Dunne’s piece.

A FNG acquired from a bad NHL team who could not crack that team's lineup is wearing a sh1t NASCAR number. Check. A team that should be absolutely desperate looks like crap in their morning skate. Check. If Pegula doesn't fire Granato soon, I half wonder if the guy would quit. -

Best of luck to the Sabres. -
Well then there’s no helping you.

I don't think you're following me. I was (and have been) responding to this post: And what I've been saying is: There's a whole bunch of random plays that could have gone the other way. I am also saying that, for this season's Bills, those plays have all come out in the wash, so to speak. They've evened out. The Bills won some games that they could have just as easily lost. And the Bills have lost some games that they just as easily could have won. Thus, their record of 6-6 is a fair representation of what kind of team they are so far.

The Sabres did look like world beaters at times last season against the Wings. More, please. -
This is consistent with my original point, which was responding to the suggestion that the Bills' playoff destiny was there for the taking with wins against the Jets (Week 1), Patriots (away), and Broncos (?). My point was that the Bills lost games that they should have won and that they won games they very easily could have lost. They are what their record says they are. My contention was that if one single, crucial play turned out differently (and, mechanically speaking, not much differently), then the Bills would have lost that game. PI in the end zone on a game ending Hail Mary is essentially never called. We saw that most recently on Sunday night.

For those who don't keep score (like me), can the board be heard regarding this poster's rumour-mongering bona fides? And please feel free to speak for yourself, @CallawaySabres. -
If Chris Godwin tracks the ball on the final play, the Bills lose that game.
-
And, if the Bills had correspondingly lost the games they probably should have (Bucs, Giants), they'd be right around where they are right now. This team deserves every bit of its current record.

Let’s go, Buffalo. Ooh ah! -
We knew what you meant.

The police report reflects that first responders observed and treated the complainant for minor injuries, including bruising on her neck. Anything is possible, of course. The most likely explanation here (by a mile) is that women battered by men will often recant legitimate accusations once they’ve returned to a place of safety.

Miller’s girlfriend in her call to 911: “‘My boyfriend is choking and hitting me... I have bruises all over me,’ she can be heard saying. ‘My hair is out.’” Miller’s girlfriend in a text message with a local reporter: “‘We’re fine,’ she wrote. ‘Things were blown way out of context. This is actually outrageous!’ She called the incident ‘a huge misunderstanding’ and described it as ‘a verbal disagreement.’ ‘No one assaulted anyone,’ she texted. ‘This is insane. And sad.’” Domestic violence has bizarre dynamics, man. In this case, Miller’s wealth probably plays a role as well in influencing this woman to cover up for his violence against her. But even in the absence of money, this sort of thing happens all the time. So strange, and, as she said in her text, sad. https://www.wfaa.com/amp/article/news/local/buffalo-bills-nfl-von-miller-faces-arrest-in-dallas-texas-domestic-violence-case/287-2904617b-5d0d-4252-a321-28d8f61807f0

Welp. -
This makes sense and is totally unsurprising.

An NBA player. Manute's kid.

I did not have Von Miller getting cucked by Bol Bol on my 2023 Bingo Card. But here we are.
-
Maybe? My Googling also revealed that the mother of 2 of his kids (Megan Denise is the name she goes by) had a scorching Instagram/sub-tweeting beef with Von's mother. (I hate that I learned that.) But that seems to suggest that Megan Denise - the 2021 complainant - is an ex-girlfriend. But, it would make the most sense if the alleged victim of the recent domestic violence were the same woman who called the police on Von in early 2021. If this were a different woman who is also apparently pregnant with Von's child? Man - we'd be moving ever so slightly towards Travis Henry territory.
-
He's apt to hurt them even more if/when his massive dead money affects the team's ability to sign useful players.
-
that is probably true. doesn't matter how the contract is terminated. those chickens (in the form of bonus money up front) must come home to roost.
-
Well now wait a second. A release or trade may be different than a contract's termination. EDIT: It occurs to me that a "release" is a form of contract termination. I just wonder if other kinds of termination have a different effect on dead money.
-
My guess is that the terms of his contract were very player-friendly. But it's possible that the team managed to include a misconduct out or some sort of morals clause. There was a Colorado police report regarding alleged domestic violence in January 2021, which his then-girlfriend (?) later walked back on Instagram. https://kdvr.com/sports/denver-broncos/broncos-star-von-miller-under-investigation-for-alleged-domestic-violence/
