  1. @Brawndo's link was more than sufficient.
  2. It's the July 1 frenzy. No time for bickering semantics.
  3. Middle 6 LW? Makes sense. LW depth is now: JJP, Benson, Zucker, Greenway, Malenstyn ...? Do I have that right? I don't always rightly recall which wingers play which side. Jay Rosehill is cited upthread.
  4. Those are the Sabres LW1 and LW2. They'll need someone else to skate with their 3C.
  5. Presumably he belongs to a Mrs. Powers?
  6. Saging down this thread. Vibes reset.
  7. it’s not fair on my part. I know it isn’t. But my guy is just the king of derp looks. Shave that melon down, Kevyn. ‘Vyn Diesel.
  8. I mean this with sincerity: It’s posts like these that make me so grateful for this board. Stick taps for @SDS
  9. They’re irrelevant to each other, yeah? The Sabres as a vehicle fleet: They ate a bunch of money in order to move on from an unreliable Maserati (sp?) and elsewhere acquired a pickup that appears totally unremarkable (at best) but will reportedly perform better if used and maintained properly.
  10. Hear, hear. I also think the lows could be mitigated by watching them in the context of the highs.
  11. Man, one of the first things i’m gonna do in retirement is get an air bnb in some eastern mountain range and watch every Coen Brothers movie over the course of a week.
  12. I hit a sad emoji for the idea of Helenius making the team as a draft year rookie, but I won’t hit a sad emoji for Krebs being beaten out of one of the 4 centre positions (and a roster spot?). The guy is too far into his career to be JAG on a mediocre team. Maybe he takes a step forward this season? Or maybe he loses his spot to an 18 year old. That’d make him, what, this season’s Olofsson? It’s a sad state of affairs that - between no trade and no movement obstacles and how UFAs view the Sabres - the franchise might be looking to solve its 3C problem with a 14th overall pick.
  13. And let’s keep in mind: They have way fancier stats than we do. Plus, they good ol’ fashioned pro personnel scouts. (At least I think they do?)
  14. It is an inescapable inference. No idea what that signifies. And I told you to close out those nerd tabs for a bit.
  15. The overpayment talk is starting to strike me as spreadsheet fandom. I therefore suggest you stay off the analytic sites for a couple days. (Lol.) As for this piece: I don’t think this move is intended to dress the wound you have in mind.
  16. This is such a good point. It feels a bit like there’s a camp of people saying “another 1st round forward prospect? where can he even fit?” and also a camp of “Adams overpaid.” Maybe those are different people? I don’t care a bit if this is an overpayment (within reason). Mangiapane was clearly not coming here. All I care about: Is this guy a useful NHLer? I sure hope so.
  17. If we’re talking about Skinner in the bottom 6, I tend to agree. His role as a top-6 LW had been taken by players who were rostered last season (principally Peterka, I think?).
