  1. Paychex is the very definition of back office support. I feel like back office support has a fairly clear meaning, even while YMMV across industries.
  2. the company provides “back-office support for a consortium of independent advisory firms … .” Confirmed: Terry reads this board and saw the recent chatter about Golisano and Paychex.
  3. Interesting. I wonder if the city doesn’t draw people from surrounding regions as well as it might because of how tricky it can be to drive around there. I mean: There you are, chilling in lane 3 of 4, and GPS tells you, “in 1000 feet, take the exit on your right.” Gah! Can’t get over. Missed it. Now I’m in a tunnel. What’s that? Next exit is in 12 miles.
  4. I was lol clowning on the fact that the song included a wince-inducing phrase — clearly without awareness of how it might sound/come off. Lulz.
  5. My joke may have eluded you, but I hardly think it was completely unnecessary.
  6. the story of the adjustment following his neck/head/brain injury is bonkers.
  7. ^:56 "white is right"
  8. And I take it back - the 1986 Sabres song is funking fire.
  9. Holy spit - this is from the same year that the Flames did theirs as linked above!
  10. Fair. The Bowman era Sabres did something similar, right?
  11. that's cringey - but it's not half as bad as what the flames did in 1986 (as indicated in the replies). also, the 1986 "song" appears to have been approved by the franchise, whereas the weirdness clipped above looks to have been a DIY fan project (?).
  12. Those are replies to Graham. The one shown above came 14 hours after Graham posted his poll.
  13. Went back. Don’t see it. It’s just his Tweet and poll.
  14. He is?
  15. He Tweeted that he'd spoken to his sources and that the Sabres are not interested in trading for Kane. Trading. Then at 2:00 a.m. today he posted a Twitter poll that asked, when you realize your brother is dead to you, are you "relieved" or "sad"?
  16. (evidently, the account deleted the tweets. 😐)
  17. not for nothing. the rejoinder is pretty good too.
  18. The word "trading" is doing a lot of work there. Makes sense. Also, maybe someone should check in on Timmy. And listen: I'm not here to shame or poke fun at a falling out with family. But putting that sh1t on Twitter for the masses to consume at 2:00 in the morning? 😕
  19. it is a bummer - i love watching games in that arena. electric. (and very red.)
  20. Holy old men yelling at clouds, Batman. In response, I first cede the floor to @nfreeman My youngest is the in the midst of his teen years and effing loves the NBA. Not sure how it happened. Actually, I think I am sure. Far more than any other North American sports league, the NBA has styled and positioned itself in ways that are uniquely appealing and enthralling to the 'utes. They've done it in myriad ways. The ones that jump out to me is (1) the manner in which they deliver their content (errr where) and (2) how they have allowed and empowered their stars to become brands unto themselves (in this way, the NBA got fully on board with the reality that the internet and social media has allowed kids to become fans of players who play in distant markets). Oh, and don't look now, but, as often as not, the league's stars are coming from outside of the U.S. That league prints money, and it only looks to be growing. The business of sports entertainment will surely change in ways we cannot predict or even imagine. But if I had to put a ducat on an existing league to survive what is yet to come, I'd put it on the NBA. I type all of that as someone who doesn't much care for how the game gets played nowadays -- all 3 ball all the time (whither a James Worthy tomahawk in transition?!). In fact, I think that's the NBA's biggest challenge: How to reintroduce some balance to the game. I lightly followed this year's playoffs, and I could not get over how several series were "close" (going 6 or 7 games), but were populated with games that were not at all close.
  21. THE MIGHTY BOOSH! ICE! FLOW! NOWHERE TO GO!
  22. what happened to dude's knee? i saw it on the tiktok (true story). is he okay? the shows go on? I have a lotta love for War and Treaty. They had a poorly publicized (and lightly attended) show at Babeville's small room a few years ago -- I was grateful for the chance to see them up close, trying out what was then new material. This an interesting collection of shows. My oldest was big into TOP for a while - I enjoyed their music and became aware that their live shows are an experience. What a legend - I was bummed to miss this.
  23. this ain't it. mental health can be a motherf*cker. we need no more proof of that than to see a young, successful entertainment superstar cite his own mental health issues when canceling a ~90-city mega tour.
  24. Buffalo News’ Lance Lysowski has a piece about 6th round pick Lukas Rousek, and how he turned heads at the camp. That sort of unanticipated good NHL-quality player is precisely what a winning team needs. Here’s hoping Lukas can fill that role for the Sabres.
