The answer to this question is not currently within the Sabres organization.
If I had to guess, I'd be inclined to agree with shrader but we're talking what, 3 or 4 years out? Who knows?

Sam Reinhart and Zemgus Girgensons have switched spots today ... Girgensons between Hodgson and Gionta. #Sabres

#Sabres roster move: Forward Johan Larsson has been assigned to the Rochester Americans (AHL)

Probably once there's talent on the roster.
Bucky wrote a good article about 95-96's Hardest Working team In Hockey and drew comparisons with this team (Audette=Gionta, May=Foligno, Peca=Girgs).
That team was low on talent but was always entertaining and was by all accounts was a difficult team to play against. As long as the effort is there and they play a physical game, they'll be fun to watch and easy to cheer for win or lose.

Enroth is starting, I don't have confirmation but that was what I believe Nolan said in a press conference.
Sabres' opening lineup:
Hodgson-Reinhart-Gionta,
Moulson-Ennis-Stafford,
Foligno-Girgensons-Stewart,
Deslauriers-McCormick-Flynn.
Defense pairings at AM skate:
Gorges-Myers
Benoit-Meszaros
Weber-Ristolainen
Thanks - it looks like it's been somewhat confirmed:

Jhonas Enroth will be your starter for Buffalo. No surprise.
EDIT: Just looked over those lines again, mildly surprised Flynn is getting the nod over Mitchel...

Do we know for sure who's playing in goal for Bflo? Jhonas or not yet confirmed?

Of course, when people like Campy decide to post the same tired strawman about pro-tank arguments, I make no promises about maintaining the silence.
I don't think you know what "strawman" means.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see what Johansen looks like without the benefit of a camp. I hope the Sabres keep a body on him and make it a loooong night.
-
I'm sorry (OK, not really), but this tank talk is utterly ridiculous.
I'm tired of Buffalo being the laughing stock.
I'm tired of "fans" hoping for their team to lose in order to get a *chance* at a #1 draft pick.
I'm tired of losing.
GO SABRES!!!!
Agreed. The whole thing about a top pick meaning we win the Cup in a few years is as big a straw man as there is.
There is a lot of upcoming youth in the organization and a handful of good vets. Let's drop the tank talk and win some games boys!

Cars have just never been important to me. I didn't own one until I got married and only then because my wife brought one into the marriage. Before that I took the bus to work and lived in an area where I could walk to everything I needed. And I'm not talking Manhattan or DC here, I'm talking mid-sized Midwestern cities. To me, cars are an unfortunate necessity that literally run on money, support for unfriendly people, and environmental destruction.
But I also totally understand people who enjoy them. Absolutely wouldn't recommend my way unless you were already predisposed to it.
I agree that they are huge money suckers, for sure. And my apologies if I sounded judgmental, I was just surprised to see that - hopefully I didn't imply anything unintended.
-
I drive an automatic 4-cyl hatchback. My wife's minivan is really fun to drive because, although it's still an auto, and much larger, it's the very first 6-cyl I've ever driven.
I feel like Mario Andretti when I roll out onto 5 & 20.
I find that absolutely amazing.
-
I'm not talking about the makes/models I drive (I learned my lesson last time!) but I will say one is automatic with a turbo and the other is a supercharged manual that even allows me to control gear ratios on the fly which is an absolute freaking blast.
Whether I drive the auto or manual depends on my mood and/or whether one passenger seat will be enough.

Just like last season?
I think most people feel NE's OL has regressed from last year.
-
I'm cool with him in Buffalo for 9 (non-consecutive) games but then he needs to go back down to Kootenay.
It's not about him skating circles around 16 year olds, it's about him getting a year to fill out and get stronger. I just don't see his frame being physically capable of taking the pounding he'd get in the NHL over 82 games.
-
I'm in the "Meh, who cares; you don't need a letter to lead" camp but I do like the choices - even if I'm mildly surprised Moulson got the A over Staff after hearing he and Ted supposedly have a strong relationship.
-
How's Rick?
Rob Ray on WGR just said RJ recently completed his treatments and is having a tough go dealing with the symptoms but that his spirit is still good and he hasn't lost his sense of humor.

NEWS: Jordan Staal suffers broken bone in leg during #Canes preseason game. Details: http://m.carhur.com/079MW

Leaders are leaders regardless of what letter, if any, is embroidered onto the front of his sweater.
If a guy needs that letter to be a leader, he isn't much of one in the first place.
-
I think the stats are only as good as the person interpreting them - and the same is true for the eye test.
But it looks like this is being discussed as a zero-sum game for some reason. I don't view it as an either-or situation and think components of both would be ideal.
-
Regarding Staal, he had x-rays at FNC but the team won't learn the results until they're on the road. He was on crutches after the game but no boot, brace, or air cast. Hopefully that's a good sign for him.
I don't like to see injuries in preseason, hopefully he'll be ready to go for the season.
EDIT---> Looks like he ended up with a cast after all:
Jordan Staal leaves First Niagara Center on crutches...sporting a cast on his lower leg... it's not a knee injury. Ankle, foot or tendon
-
I think you might be pleasantly surprised with Lemieux and Kaleta on Grigorenko's wings. That will open space for someone with a ton of skill.
Thought the same thing when I saw the lines.
-
The article doesn't say, or imply, that Nolan is outright rejecting stats. The article is based on a handful of comments made by Nolan in what context, or in response to what statement or question, none of which are revealed. <snip>
I can't say I disagree with this part of his remarks: "In modern day hockey there's a lot of emphasis put on analytics and how much possession time, but you can never underestimate the human aspect of the game. Hockey's not all that difficult, there's a science to it, but it's not rocket science."

I wonder what the different fonts for the forwards is supposed to mean. Some are bold, some are reversed.

Regarding the #Sabres camp roster: some line combos appear shaded, others in light type face due to color coding. Except copies are B&W.

Please feel free to list that talent. You really think our farm system is Cup material? Find me a 30 goal scorer in that group. For that matter find me 20. Grigs and Armia have more of a chance to be busts than solid players. Zadarov is know being questioned about weight, skating, and work ethic. Reinhart has done nothing (i understand he has limited time here) in prospect camp or Traverse City.
Interesting because Kris Baker - who was there and watched the games - said Samson played well in Traverse City.
What makes you think he "didn't do anything"? The boxscore?
Zadorov?

I'm thinking cap floor had something to do with it, too.
