  1. It was the risk equivalent of putting your entire 401(k) on a roulette spin
  2. I know you’re right I’m just trying to work through this mentally and I’m struggling
  3. He has genuinely been impressive so far this season. There’s nothing more he could’ve done to this point he’s played great. He’s the only guy that was ready to play when the puck dropped against the Rangers
  4. Lyon is the only Saber who showed up to play this season other than maybe Zucker and Dahlin but even Rasmus looks out of sync at times
  5. This is the most embarrassing it’s been though in my opinion If we get shut out again and we don’t even look like we can come close to scoring something has to happen. There has to be a breaking point.
  6. I’m afraid it’s gonna happen before the season is over. They don’t even look remotely in sync. This is just blowing my mind little over 90 minutes into a season.
  7. What’s scary is it looks like they’ve checked out already. I’ve never seen anything like this two games into a season. not trying to overreact, but the locker room may be lost already something’s going on
  8. If we get shut out in this game too, Adams has to get fired. He just has to.
  9. We literally cannot even set up a power-play I’ve never seen anything like this That’s his specialty
  10. WE HAVE NOT HAD ONE DANGEROUS SCORING CHANCE IN ALMOST 90 MINUTES OF F****** HOCKEY
  11. What the actual f*** This might be one of the worst hockey teams I’ve ever seen
  12. We had that three years ago adams blew up the offense in order to create a middling defense instead of a terrible one. Just an awful general manager.
  13. We were top three in scoring like three years ago. That was effectively ruined in favor of bolstering the defense. A competent GM would’ve just improved the defense without neutering the offense in the process. this is honestly shameful
  14. If Kevin wanted to trade away some of our top offensive talent, he had to secure a truly dominant goalie and probably another dominant defenseman in order to make it make any sense whatsoever. yes Lyon who’s playing great so far this season for like 95% of the minutes he’s played, but I think we all know it’s probably not gonna hold up especially with no support in front of him offensively. I don’t think it’s an overreaction to say that this is probably gonna be the typical dynamic this season. We just don’t have offensive talent anymore that can create opportunity consistently
  15. Giving two of the top five goalies in the league the easiest nights of their careers in back-to-back games.
  16. He may have created the worst top six in the entire league
  17. Cue the first complaint about goaltending …
  18. Need much more scoring out of him imo
  19. As was brought up by myself in a bunch of others the other night, the most concerning thing that I’m seeing is just simply a lack of fire power on this team. Tage is definitely the most talented offensive player, but he’s a complementary piece, not somebody who can make it happen on his own like a true superstar game changer. And I’m saying that emphasizing that I do think Tage is truly special. But I just don’t see where the goals are going to come from at this point. Which is such a sad state of affairs, considering when things seem to be turning around a few years ago when we were scoring punches almost every night, it felt like the scoring would never be an issue going forward. To me, that’s the most disappointing part. So now we’re playing slightly better defensively as a team, but we have nobody to put the puck in the net essentially. I think that’s the most damning thing with Adams. We had the scoring to the tune of what was it a top three scoring team or top five for sure, and now it seems like we have a team full of grinders who actually still can’t even get messy in front of the net like we need. I remember saying a few years ago to people that they were at least fun to watch and it was the first time in so long that I was excited. I just don’t see what there is to be excited for about this team unfortunately. I’m obviously gonna watch as much as I can stomach, but I just don’t see enough fire power for us to even compete. I think we’re doing more things right, but now we’re lacking the scoring talent that we already had on the roster less than three years ago. I think there were some overreactions about how we played the other night— we actually played pretty well for the most part in my opinion and Lyon was genuinely stout in net until the last couple minutes, and yes Igor might be the best goalie in the league, but I knew we weren’t gonna get a goal. I think a lot of us knew. The only way for this model to succeed at this point would be for us to have somebody like Igor. We obviously do not have that… Good luck to all of us this year. I’ll just say that.
  20. Should probably start with more than one before considering this hypothetical
  21. I have a very weird mental state when it comes to the Sabres. I’m essentially trapped in 05-06 when we should’ve won the Stanley Cup. When all the stars aligned and it looked like it was absolutely going to happen. So I don’t even know if the darkness of this stretch has really even hit me the way it has some other people. I just live in a state where the Sabres are still that team and are still a relevant franchise. I guess it’s some sort of mental gymnastics to protect me. But your post puts it into a pretty clear light. I think I’ll probably still stay in 2006 though, before Jay McKee woke up on the morning of game seven with a staph infection on his ankle. I still refuse to accept we didn’t win the cup. And I’ll stay here as long as it takes until this franchise sorts out the present.
  22. It was an easy night for Igor. The only one that almost went in was the tipped one off of the post. Nothing else was even remotely dangerous.
