  1. No, what actually needs to stop is people running with this taking everything they say at face value even when it’s complete nonsense BS rumors just for engagement. Why are you taking this at face value as if it’s confirmed fact? That’s the real question here. The reason why these people throw BS at the wall is because people like you run with it as if it’s just for sure true whenever they say random *****
  2. Haha just a classic childish, no nuance comment.
  3. Yeah, I wasn’t talking about the humorous posts. I’m talking about the burn it all down posts after grinding out a point against a solid team after a slow start. Especially when we all know that those same people were excited and starting to get more into the season 10 minutes earlier when the game was going our way.
  4. Yeah, but this childish black and white attitude leaves no room for nuance. That’s all I’m saying I’m not saying that 14 years of frustration isn’t behind all of this.
  5. Hahaha it actually is so funny to read through the posts right after a loss, even one in which we got a point and recovered nicely after a very lackluster first period against a solid team. Some of you really don’t know how childish you come off following a loss. Reduced from a cogent adult to a tantruming five-year-old.
  6. Some of you are WAY too emotional after a loss and it is kind of ridiculous to see the extreme takes in the minutes following a loss. I think some of you need to take a deep breath and cool off before you post because the level of emotion is clearly skewing your thoughts
  7. Dude, they just got points in three straight games. It is a legitimate improvement. We’re not gonna go from what we’ve been dealing with to a powerhouse overnight or even quickly whatsoever. They need to understand that they need to get points every night, but it’s not gonna be a win every single time. We had one of our better shooters with a breakaway in overtime and he didn’t bury it. I have confidence that next time he will. Some of you are too negative to see that there is actual progress being made, even though it is an admittedly small sample size so far this year
  8. Getting any points in those games is still a legitimate improvement
  9. I honestly have noticed a solid shift with more pushback from our guys. I’m liking the increased nasty in our own crease to get everybody out.
  10. We need to have somebody for sure that we can call up for rematches like we’ll need somebody for the next time we face the jackets
  11. Olivier no penalty though Game changing BS calls
  12. I’m very cautiously going to state that it’s starting to feel like we have less guys on this roster who are beholden to what seemed like a never-ending curse of mediocrity and just accepting a loss as if it’s predetermined once things start to go wrong. And this resolve that is becoming more noticeable isn’t manifesting with flash and super exciting stuff. It’s gritty hard work down low. Winning puck battles. Getting the puck on the net. Not being out muscled in front of the net. mcleod scores as I write this!
  13. We finally have some guys who are willing to consistently do that but we need to keep on it. That’s NHL hockey that’s how you get going.
  14. Lyon continues to impress. starting to get into a better rhythm, but somebody needs to step up and put pucks in the net for us
  15. This is the exact type of game we’ve seen countless times for so long now that they just presented totally lackluster performance right when they have the opportunity to show that they’re for real. Or at least on that track. This is on a 4-1 lackluster no show type loss, so if they do manage to turn this around and actually get a win, I will be very impressed.
  16. Which also allows us to just let Levi continue to develop at an appropriate pace in Rochester like we did with Miller so long ago.
  17. Why couldn’t they have just called the game right after we scored so annoying
  18. Yeah but we’re scoring 8 goals a game now. So we only need him to be solid, which he has been.
  19. Anyone else pumped for tonight’s game?!?!
  20. Adams shipped out too much offensive firepower in an effort to bolster the defense, which he now touts as elite. A remotely competent GM would not have done this. If he was gonna make those moves like shipping out Peterka and Cozens and Middlestadt, the return would’ve needed to create an actual elite defense. A truly shut down defense with rock, solid goaltending and depth in goal. As OP stated goaltending hasn’t even been an issue—yet— but I don’t think any of us is overly confident in that situation. But what we have now is really just a middling D paired with a very mediocre offense. He has failed repeatedly to create a top line that can change games. I know that Cozens really fell off, but that is not rare for young players in this organization, so I’m not putting it all on the player. He showed at times that he could’ve been quite solid for us for a long time. Personally, I would not have paid him so early, but now look at our offensive output. It’s honestly just mind blowing that only three years ago we were a top three scoring team for a full season. Somebody corrected me if I’m wrong, but it’s at least top five. From there all you needed to do was use our extensive pipeline of assets and some future picks to bolster the defense and land somebody between the pipes that could carry the load as a true number one goalie. Putting all your eggs in UPL was a massive mistake. He has shown that he can be the real deal, but it’s only in flashes so that doesn’t actually help us. Another poster mentioned Silovs and how making a move for him last year made so much sense for us and the cost would’ve been VERY reasonable. I actually took notice of him too. I’m sure like many of you and saw what he did during that playoff run. He’s just not a smart GM. And although I’m still willing to give Owen power more time, because he really does probably need another couple seasons to see if he can be that guy, he is a miss as of right now and that is killing us. I think what bothers me the most is again the fact that we had the fire power and we had them rolling together really well, and we just completely blew that up. You didn’t need to blow that up in order to make our defense in goaltending situations better. I don’t see any way that he can turn this around. And it is disappointing that this team is as bad as many of us pretty much knew they were going to be, and whatever inkling of hope that we held is already gone after three games. Yeah they can start to play better and stuff like that and guys can come back, but this team is noticeably worse and lacking compared to even the last three iterations. just a completely sad situation for a once proud franchise
